750S, how will you configure yours?

So the new 750S is out and thought we could start a thread on how folks plan to spec their own, or spec a dream version.

1. I've not seen the wheels in the flesh, but I'm not a fan of their appearance on the configurator (which seems to be down at the moment). I went with the Strike wheels for mine. Car colour choice is good, I think, although I like to have a light interior in a road car.
2. Depends how much you're going to drive it. I avoided the carbon splitter and diffuser on my 720, and ditto on the 750, because the slightest misjudgement of a speed bump, or the smallest interface with a half-blind French peasant (yes, really) and you'll be out all the money. I wouldn't go within a hundred miles of the carbon underfloor, for a start, given how often I've replaced some of those panels.
3. It's described as "natural steel" so I doubt it's Ti. Dunno on the wing supports.
4. I've asked the question of MSO. Same for the Artura-originated mode selectors, which I have asked to have made in carbon.
5. Personally I think both the carbon hood and the rear wing are bleh on a road car, unless painted in which case what's the point. Lightweight badge is silly. Carbon wings also, I think, because this isn't a 765 and shouldn't pretend to be one.
1. interesting about the wheels. I find I only like them in the diamond finish but if that wasn't avail I would do turbine in stealth. What interior are you doing and with what exterior? I am curious about the TechLux but love alcantara.
2. Going to drive it a lot. If it is the entire underfloor that explains the price. I'll pass.
4. I would like that as well.
5. good point re pretending to be a 765LT.

My spec is above. Volcano blue over porcelain techlux. My current 720 (coupe) is Saros over almond lux. I have a GT3RS with a black alcantara interior - it's all very racecar, but not somewhere to spend a 3,000 mile roadtrip - same reason I'm having power comfort seats, not P1s or Sennas.

Also, has anyone seen Ludus Blue in person. It looks pretty close to the Mercedes Electro Blue that I like, but I find the configurator colors are very off, at least for supernova Silver.

Snapped some photos from my phone of my build with MSO the other day. Was told I will be getting the official high quality renderings 2nd week of June so not all options are displayed on these photos.

-Dyad theme paint, Pearl Tokyo Cyan on Black.
-Gloss black 10 spoke wheels.
-Senna brake upgrade painted in Tokyo Cyan.
-Carbon fender louvers with Pearl Tokyo Cyan pin stripes.
-Carbon pack 1 with Pearl Tokyo Cyan pin stripe on mirrors.
-Carbon eye sockets.
-Chrome black exhaust.
-Chrome black "750s" logos.
-Full custom white, black, leather interior with Tokyo Cyan stitching.
-Carbon interior pack with leather carbon wheel.
-Pearl Tokyo Cyan paint on Senna seats, top and bottom of steering wheel, + and - buttons on paddles, and paddle sides.
-Full gloss carbon on interior.
-Colored brake and foot pedals.
-Custom color start button with logo.
-Speedy Kiwi logo painted on upper carbon in Pearl Tokyo Cyan.
-"Mclaren Special Operations" painted on full carbon door sills in Pearl Tokyo Cyan.
-Custom dedication plaque.
-Dyad theme key to match the car.

I am sure I forgot to mention some options haha. For the very few Dyad theme cars Mclaren has done, Mclaren normally does the black color on the drivers side and then has it fade into the other color on the passenger side. But for mine I had them switch it and the Pearl Tokyo Cyan will fade into the black on the passenger side.

Way to go on the Senna brakes! 😁
That Spec may just clear up Mclarens Financial issues.

Holy cow I thought I went nuts with MSO.

What a spec, BTW good call on the colored brake pedals, I did the same.

I have a November Spider build so I still have a month or two to lock in my spec but for my sanity and productivity need to finalize this and move on. Questions for the group:

1. Am thinking Cirrus grey, black interior, vortex diamond finish. Currently have a Glacier white 720S. Anyone ever see those together and can comment on the difference?

2. Going to go heavy on the external carbon fibre. The one I am thinking to not do however is the under car (diffuser/front lip). The price of that seems out of whack with the rest of the carbon options, am I missing something?

3. exhaust finish option. Saw somewhere for the 765LT that some kept the silver exhaust as it is titanium so you’ll get to see a bit of a rainbow colour on it over time. Same for 750S? Also, would you think the stealth option also changes the colour of the wing supports because it doesn’t look like it in the configurator but apparently did for 765LT

4. The infotainment screen surround can’t be had in carbon fibre as was the case with the 720s and 765lt. Anyone hear about this becoming avail?

5. Any thoughts on carbon hood? The lightweight badge has me on tilt. If I do carbon hood does the carbon wing need to be added for aesthetics?
My 2021 720 was Cirrus Grey. It's definitely a cool color! At first glance the car looks white, but next a white car you can clearly see the grey. It also has a blue flake in the paint which looks great in the sun.

Thanks that’s helpful. I’d love to see Lucas blue and Belize blue next to each Other. Tough to discern the difference.
I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but the colors on the configurator are terrible! Many of the colors dont look anywhere near what they should

Yea really the pits. Also they provide the lighting for only one really horrible and unrealistic setting, and it’s just horribly off for almost every color except maybe the basic black.

It would be great for 2 or three different lightening environments. Outside sun. Outside night. Inside garage lighting.
The configurator during the MSO sessions in New York is closer to actuality, my dealer has the same platform and its similarly accurate.

I don't see why they can't make it available online.

Apparently there is going to be a 750S on display at the Greenwich Concours in CT on the weekend of 6/3. Looking forward to seeing it in person as I'm trying to finalize my spec pretty soon!

Got my higher quality renderings from MSO. Only thing that is missing is "Mclaren Special Operations" on the door sills. On a side note, I had asked for the carbon mirror arms like I have on my 765. The told me "Sure thing, but the 360 park assist won't work in conjunction with the carbon mirror arms if you choose that option." I find that odd since I have them on my 765 and it has 360 park assist 🤔. As of now I don't have them. Might change a few items before 100% locking in the spec.

FFS.
Congrats, hope you have Aton of fun with it! Weird on the 360 issue.
wow. What option is the painted door sills ? That looks fantastic. I assume it’s in addition to the dyad theme ?

Yes its the Dyad theme. Goes from gloss carbon and the fades into the dyad theme.

I think it is incumbent upon you to take this car on a nationwide tour when it arrives.

Looks amazing! I'm guessing the wheels were part of the MSO spec? I'm not a fan of the current wheel offering on the 750.
