Hi Super Lou. What do you mean later VIN? There are later 2012 vins than 1493, so I'm guessing you're asking something different?

Yes I was wondering what the count of production may be if my Vin is 1493 then I am guessing over 1500 where produced ?

The 2012 models defiantly go well over 1600. It's a good question what the last 2012 is, my guess is somewhere around 1700.

2012 MY cars go up to c. 1810. There are ones higher but they are exceptions.

Super Lou may be referring to a statistic that I've not been able to substantiate: that approximately 800 12Cs were exported for the US market and that roughly 400 remain on the road. I originally was told that by my insurance company and have heard it several times since, but apart from this database, I don't believe there's a solid resource to reference. I posted my car's info above as well. Thanks, all.

I have over 700 12Cs (MP4-12C and 12C Spiders) with what I call US-Market VINs (those destined for anywhere in the Americas, North and South). I probably have the majority of the US ones so 800-1,000 would be my final guess for US-Market cars. I don't know if there is a way to find out how many would be left on the road.

There are around 3,500 12Cs in all.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there are around 700 running cars in the US. And maybe 500 that are unmodified. Perhaps 300 still under warranty. Wild speculation on my part.

The most accurate answer I have found is there was a total of 1,170 MP4-12C's model years 2012, 2013 & 2014 imported to the United States.

This is per the official NHTSA recall notice issued by McLaren regarding the defective windshield wiper motor issue that potentially affected every 12C built should that vehicle be garaged in a high humidity or hot weather region.

wiper motor went out on my 12c in 2013 and mclaren sent a tech to fix it.
there were a lot more than the florida cases they mentioned .

I was able to get some answered regarding the number of 12c sold in 2012 in the US direct from England

554 sold 12c in
50 of them where the color Graphite Grey.

There could be as many predicted a rise in the 12 c In the near future

Hey guys, I am new to Mclaren and recently bought a 2014 Coupe 50th Anniversary Edition. The plaque says ”1 of 50” so I am wondering is this car the 1st one off the production line? Thanks in advance.
