No regen - can't see the point in a hybrid that doesn't do kinetic energy recovery. I found the drive itself uninspiring - I prefer the less linear brutality of the 720. Not having a reverse gear until the battery has charged a bit, which makes you look a right tit as you sit there idling in the carpark unable to move. Not being able to turn off the speed limit warning beep, despite spending ages faffing about with the settings.

I really like the look of the thing, in a compact and wieldy way (remember the ill-fated Artega GT - although that was considerably more compact still), and I can see how the spider will be integrated, but I just didn't find the drive worked for me, and the hybrid in town was considerably less effective than either the i8 roadster I had a while back or our current XC90 T8.

I think hybrids will make a lot more sense when we get next-gen batteries. Then you could have something that works as well as a Polestar 1 without the elephantine weight. 80-100 mile EV range plus a full ICE drivetrain, proper adjustable regen and enough battery capacity to reserve some for torque fill and reverse without needing to run the motor unnecessarily. Put a (say) 50l tank in it and give it fast charge capability and you have a competent long-distance tourer that isn't just lugging extra battery weight around once the initial charge has been used up. 5 minutes of petrol fill, 10 minutes of charge and you get another 400-or-so miles of total range.
This is almost the exact opposite of my thoughts on the car! I can't see the point of kinetic regen in a car that prizes driving dynamics, if I wanted regen I'd buy a Tesla. I found driving it to be a blast, especially on track where you have to be really careful (or not, depending on your preference for front or rear steering) with the torque demand pedal, lest you go sideways, there has been plenty of drama on my drives.... I doubt you'd need much charge for reverse, does it even let it get that low? And someone posted about how to turn off the speed limit beep.

What I'm not keen on is the way it looks, it's too conservative for me. This is probably the biggest thing that puts me off buying.

It regens in track mode. I haven't dropped below 90% battery driving mine since I almost exclusively shift to track mode at some point in my drive. And the reverse comment is baffling because it assumes the battery isn't charged. My car is able to reverse 100 times out of 100...

I do agree on the somewhat lacking of emotion but a few software updates have helped (not fixed, but helped). And yes the warnings are a tad annoying but I'm hoping that will be an easy software update.

Artura to me is the perfect semi-daily. Can take it anywhere, it's very livable, but will also take you close to the pinnacle of performance in terms of speed and handling. It is not the raw, emotional weekend car I'd take if I only had one exoitc in my garage (but luckily, I don't).

765 LT I’d have over the 750 any day but would have to be spider . Cus you know what’s coming The LT version of the 750 then you’d wished you’d have waiting
750!values will crash just like then720 before it . LT’s seem to hold better value
I would scratch my head if an LT version comes after the 750S and even 765LT owners will be perplexed.

yep, if you have no battery i can confirm that the ICE motor comes on and it charges enough in seconds. BTW, I love mine :)

Oh I understand just fine. If you're so close to the edge of your budget that 10% extra depreciation, amortized over several years, will ruin you, for a supercar, then you're doing some poor life choices
No, you're still not understanding, probably deliberately since I know you're not stupid.
Firstly, the difference may well be much more than 10%. If you compare the 720 with the 765, for example, a 720 is going to depreciate at around 50% over 3 or 4 years, and a 765 might not be depreciated at all, or maybe 10%. This makes the total cost of ownership of a 720 far greater than a 765, so from a purely monetary viewpoint, it's much cheaper to own a 765, although you may or may not have the cash flow to actually afford one.
Secondly, that total cost of ownership then factors in to the purchase of the next car. After 3 years, there will be far more equity in a 765 than in a 720, making the next purchase much more affordable. This is exactly why residual value is important to the manufacturer because it directly affects the potential sale of the next new car.

In the case of the original question on this thread, comparing a 750 to a 765, it's a very relevant question since the gap between the two cars is relatively small. 750 a bit softer, greater range of performance, 765 arguably better looking, more raw, maybe a bit quicker. It's all marginal stuff, but there might potentially be a difference of $100k or more total cost of ownership of the two cars over 2 or 3 years.

(1) set a budget, (2) buy the car you want. Life is too short to spend hundreds of thousands on not-your-favorite.

All this depreciation talk is just denial. The 765 and 720 are both out of production, so you'd buy a used 720 that is thoughtfully pre-depreciated by the previous owner. While a newer one might depreciate more than a 765, the vagaries of market swings will be about the same absolute dollars, and the risk factor is higher on a 765 with the much higher entry price. If you can't handle that amount of depreciation over the multi-year ownership of the car (ballpark $10K per year ? less ?), then you're pushing the financial risk envelopment way out of bounds. I ain't your daddy, so I can tell you that's just stupid. Plus a base 750 is a LOT cheaper than market price of most 765. Like $150K less. Spending less is less. Spending more is man math.

World is filled with amazing fun cars at all price levels. Keep the wallet fat AND rack up the miles.

Buy Both. If you can't swing both, buy the 765LT now and trade it in on the 750S. Depending on how raw of a car you want you may not like the 765LT. F Depreciation. Make your decision based on how much you like it and how much joy it will bring you. When people are happy and motivated they tend to go out in the world and make more money and have a better time in life.

I may be biased because I own a 765LT spider, but that one you posted is a great spec. If you were going to really spec the same car I would buy that 765LT. However, no car play etc. I do not like the binacle on 750 and no folding dash, my opinion.
My speced 750s is 470k and has almost every carbon option and senna seats. So much higher optioned than any 765lt I can find. So on one hand, have all the options I want vs the aggressive look of a 765.

If you like apple car play and like listening to your stereo while driving buy the 750S. If you drive your cars hard you wont be able to listen to your stereo in a 765LT. You will also hear pretty much everything going on and a few rattles in a 765LT. The mirrors jiggle in Track Mode at idle so you can't see what is behind you etc etc. The 765LT is an excellent car, its just not as easy to drive as the others like the 720S or the 750S if you are just going to drive back and forth to wherever. If your buying the car to just drive around and not drive hard buy the 750S Spider. If you want a 765LT Spider. Wait a few days. One will pop up. They always do.

根据您的预算,购买 765LT 可能会更好。毕竟LT是限量版。新系列的迈凯伦没有太多问题。新产品还是有很多小问题。毕竟还没过磨合期。
