Do you find the electrochromic roof, specifically in the spider, useful, or like something to show people to make them go "wow" but its not applicable usually because top is always down etc
It makes the cabin feel more open and airy. I’ve had both…with and without…I prefer it with the electrochromatic roof…yes $9-$10k isn’t cheap and replacing it is worse…but given the choice I’d go with it…

The glass roof is one of the things I miss about my 570. It makes the cabin a much nicer place to be.

Like aorta said, the roof does make the cabin feel more airy, and the function itself does help cutting down sunlight and heat when darken. I often turn off the darken function when driven at night and turn it on when it's super sunny and hot outside. Of course when the top is down the roof is tucked away so it won't be utilized. It's not an inexpensive option for sure but for me I am happy I optioned it.

I'll give the alternative viewpoint. Had it on my 765 Spider. Completely useless. Not because the roof isn't cool. it is. Works very well. But my top was down 98% of the time so I never got to use it. I had other cars I could drive if the weather was not cooperative but if it's your only car- for sure go for it. but I did not find it money well spent.

@ChipDiamond Agree with Michaelj said, and it really depends on how you plan to use the car. Options are there so you could tailor build the car to your liking and usage case. In my previous non-sports cars I always had sunroofs that came with the car, and yet 99% of the time I never used it, but that also has to do with the areas where I was living at where it's very hot and humid. Here in British Columbia where it's glorious in the summer and yet not too hot or humid, and with the 750s being my first convertible car, picking the spider and the glass roof for me personally were options I was willing to splurge on. I know this doesn't really help with your decision making but you just need to figure out how you want to use the car in reality.

Same reason why I didn’t get it and now am I missing something?

I have a glass roof on my audi etron gt and i had it 5% tinted with ceramic tint to cut down on the heat beating from above in desert climate. Curious how much the electrochromic feature cuts down on actual sun beating in from above in very hot climates 105 degrees+ or if I would have to do ceramic tint again.

I cant give you a number but I never felt "hot" in the car....but to be fair if it was butt ass hot in the Arizona sun, i usually would just drive another car

All this time I thought the darkened feature would help block the sunlight.... wow. Good news is, I'm too poor to afford this option anyway. :)
