just announced at the Detroit auto show. The P15 will have to be really something to top this, plus I get a dealer network!

Nice turbo whistle. The car is V-6 twin turbo, no torque fill motors, 7-speed DCT, 600+HP, and super-light weight. Rumour is it will be $400 K, me want.....

Apparently you are looking at the production version, first deliveries late next year. Rumor is they'll build 300-500 per annum for up to five years.
I'll be interested in the performance metrics; 3000lbs, 600-ish HP, 7 speed DCT is no longer cutting edge, in fact I could have just described an MP4-12C. However, Ford tends to sandbag their horsepower data so it will probably be ib the 650 range? Still not game-changing tho'
I like that it looks like a GT (especially the windscreen forwards) whilst being a bonkers design with other echoes to Ford's past, such as the angular GT90. Can't wait to see what Mr Steffensen is working on for P15, hope its not a P1 wanna be.

Rumors abound at the Detroit auto show

So, that Ford GT, pretty cool, eh? The new supercar generated huge interest at the Detroit auto show, and, according to our sources, it will be generating a lot of power and downforce on the track as soon as next year. It'll also be generating a lot of boost and heat, which leads us to the taillights.

You probably noticed they were hollow, just like the inside headlight on the new Dodge Challenger Hellcat. But why?

We've heard from at least two journalists that the wastegates vent through the taillights, but we've also heard they'll be used to vent hot air from the engine compartment. The area to the right of the light appears to be open and looks a little vent-y. In the image above, we can see what appears to be some kind of light mesh sitting behind the open area in the light. Either way, it's a cool detail. We'll head back over to the show in a few minutes for a closer look and post what we find this afternoon.

Update: We tracked down a couple of Ford designers and the vents pull air over the intercoolers. Not quite as zany as the other theories, but still cool.

It's not just about specs on paper, but how you use them. A 3000 lb, 600hp car from 10 years ago is no match for one today. Lots more going on than just the raw numbers. Execs haven't said how much, but said to target the Huracan, Speciale, and 650S with respect to price. I think it will actually come in lower than those though at around $250K.

I love the look of the new LaFordari MP40. My gripe is (like everyone else) the V6. I was expecting at least the flat plane crank V8, not this ecoboost. If this will be more than $250k, I don't think it will do as well as the last one.
I put my name on the list at a local dealer, but will back out if it's more than $260k
