Hello,

I'm curious what a real number is for my car.

I have a 2018 Amethyst Black, 6,000 miles, and in great condition. I have a one year extended warranty that will star this month. Trouble free car with new tires. You can see a picture in my profile.

Thanks,

Joe

I see 2018s asking $220-230K, probably could get one for 10-20K less than asking. Dark purple isn't a super popular color, but might be able to find the right buyer. I'd think $205-215K depending on how quick you wanted to sell it. Only way to find out though is to list it and see what happens.

I am seeing some dealers list cars with similar MSRPs for $269k or so. A buddy of mine just got $238k from a non-McLaren dealer for his 2019 720 but he was offered $228k at our local McLaren dealer. Your list price will just depend on how quickly you want to sell it. List for $249k... negotiate from there.

You’re way out of touch. Research more , get some real experience with people who have bought one recently and what dealers are buying them for with or without trade and what brokers are buying them for before you start typing .

I agree. This car is great and performance oriented. I feel like when they design this car, they push the limits and maximize the usage of all the parts (and in the process minimize the weight). The margin of error is so small. Yes, they can probably increase the tolerance but probably in the process will increase the weight and decrease the performance, which they do not want. Also, unlike Porsche, the volume is low and hand-built and, therefore, chances of defects go up. So it is almost a trade off. Hopefully, in the future, they can improve on the trade off.

To be fair the market has changed a lot the last 12 months. So if you base your price on for example 6 months old information that price will be very different from the current. Looking at the market wont tell you much, but if you get offers from a couple of dealers or if you know what cars have sold for recently you know what the price should be. This explains why you get so different answers, some have fresh information and some have stale. I dont think anyone is trying to trick you, they just dont have the correct info.
