Hey guys,

Just wanted to stop in quickly and show a little bit of what we have been working on recently! Dyno Spectrum Map Switching for McLaren utilizing the stock ECU is finally feasible and a public release is on the horizon! Another first by Dyno Spectrum! All of the custom code was written in house by Dyno Spectrum engineers. This will only be available through Dyno Spectrum direct or through approved Dyno Spectrum dealers.

Map Switching can accommodate up to 8 different maps. Which each map can do is currently still not set in stone so input from you guys on what you'd like to see would be great! In this video we are only demonstrating idle target speed changes but with the way we've written the code we can do maps that can be switched based on octane, torque targets, ethanol concentration, rev limits, speed limits, pops and bangs, traction control, launch control, etc... This video highlights map switching for the 675LT but it will be ported to all other McLaren models.

Any current or prior customers are eligible to upgrade to map switching for $500 when released. Our MSRP for calibrations will also increase $500 for those who choose to have a map switching option.

Hope you guys like it!

Thanks! It took a lot of hard work to get to this point. Are there any particular things you guys would like to see in a switchable map? We have some good ideas but would really love to hear what you guys, who drive these cars often, wish was a factory feature from McLaren.

True flex fuel is on our list of priorities after map switching is completed. A lot of the leg work that has been put into getting map switching working will also expedite flex fuel capabilities. In the interim though you could technically use map switching to scale for 8 different ethanol concentrations ranging from E10 Pump gas to E85. Since there are 8 map slots you can have a map slot for every ~9% change in ethanol concentration and manually change your map according to what the ethanol content is in the tank. Not ideal as it requires user input but it may satisfy some's lust for flex fuel until we can complete a more elegant solution.

Thanks for the input!

Adjustable on-the-fly traction control, multiple degrees of intervention.
Pricing is still being discussed, however for our entry level map switching file we will likely include calibrations for stock, 91(95RON), 93(98RON), 100+(104+RON), & Valet. Further customization will be available directly through us or Dyno Spectrum dealers for those who are looking for something a bit more specific.

I would suggest these 4 files:

1) Stock 91-octane tune for putting around town/grocery getting/driving around with the kids
2) Conservative 91-octane 50 HP gain for canyon carving / not getting too ctazy or hot track days
3) Big HP gain 91-octane tune for when you want to push it hard or show off to your buddies on pump gas
4) Very big HP gain 100 octane tune for drag racing / 1/2 mile events

And of course all 4 files show OBD2 READY for all emissions testing at all times. inspite of whatever exhaust is on the car.

This sounds absolutely awesome!!

Could you include an easy Traction Off solution at all?
I’d also like some more pops and bangs, like 675LT, can you do this?
What about dyno mode?
Could you also in any way flash the 675LT gearbox software into a map, so the shifts are better and it better blips the throttle for better rev matching than the current sluggish 12C/650S software? Like 675LT?

Thanks
