It’s inevitable that this bubble will burst at some point. Buy these cars because you want to drive them, not for resale value IMO.

Every time I have purchased one of these cars I ask myself if the value of the car were to go to zero tomorrow would I be ok with that? If the answer is no, then I probably shouldn’t be buying the car.

A couple final comments on Noone and then I will no longer feed the troll:
  • Noone seems like he is trying to antagonize board members in a similar way that he did on Ferrarichat. Perhaps, he is trying to be banned on two automotive boards.
  • Noone doesn’t seem to understand that when people go to niche enthusiast boards, they do so looking for people who share their same interests. Diversity is great/welcome, but it’s equally crucial that everyone share at least one common quality: a passion and love for cars. Because he doesn’t love cars (at least enough to own one), his presence is a constant distraction.
  • Lastly, his usage of the f-bombs in his last post came off very forced, awkward, and clumsy. I mean, who talks like that on a forum occupied largely by intelligent, reasonable people?

Well said. Hopefully we can get back the topic now that we have been educated in relationships and cars!

Problem is the coupes that are priced high are just sitting. If the market continues the way it has been over the last few weeks we could be in for a very big correction. According to some of the financial experts the super bubble we are in is just started to burst. If that does occur there will be a lot of wealth lost and prices usually drop when that occurs. If you look at the past bubble burst there was a significant decline in luxury goods for a few year afterwards. (but what the hell do I know as this is outside my expertise and I rely on wealth managers to deal with that stuff). I hope it doesn’t occur and prices keep going up!!
In agreement. The mere idea that the market could go sideways is enough to even hurt prices.

People have experienced and insane amount of wealth growth and feel comfy. What happens when suddenly they see no growth or even a 10-20% decline?

Market could easily correct 20% and still be fair if not expensive. Nasdaq already has started to collapse with megacaps supporting most of it. If megacaps turn ... Look out below.

Best way to figure out what people will pay is to just try to sell one. List your car and see what offers come in. Asking is just asking. No idea what the msrps are, but there are cars asking low to mid 500s last I browsed, so clearly it's not 700.

Nah dude, I just don't share your passion for your cars, and you're irked by it. That's the thing. You come from Fchat where passion is often more important than product. The great thing about McLaren was that the badge had fuck all for cachet and this board and the people on in back in 2012 didn't give a fuck.

Ahh, the good ol' days when the owner of Brazzers and Pornhub was on here hacking his Iris... Wonder what happened to him and Stormwhatever. I'm sure Boxer and Zombie remember them. I remember when Frank S. was kinda on here incognito and reached out privately to invite me to one of the launches. Great guy. Great forum.

Funny, I received private messages from others about you just now. You should reevaluate what forum you're on because the amount of cars you own doesn't mean shit here and you're pretty late to the McLaren party.

You think you're too cool for school, but you're not. This isn't Fchat and thank God. It's better. So relax.

You are on thin ice, he arrived one year after you. A lot of us left Fchat and went to Flife - so many RL accuse me of paying for members to move to FLife.

RL banned me and in return offered him two Ferrari's if he could prove what he said. I don't like liars and Rob Lay is one - so I am sorry you got banned but you aren't doing yourself any favors. You have lost it and suggest - apologize and allow others to enjoy the forum.

I don't have the time or energy to do this again with another long time member. Stop fabricating and defending your actions of zero value as you deflect an argument you began.

And Cadster actually owns a Mclaren??? Quite funny to see a 765 owner be talked to in a way by someone who has been on this forum for what 7 years and never actually owned a Mclaren or any exotic?

Is there a way on this website where you can start a thread abs decide who you want to allow to post? Certainly would remove some of the distractions? Or have the moderators actually moderate? Not sure who the moderators are here.

I prefer no moderators to the biased, arbitrary incompetents who preside over F Chat. I personally ignore any posts by noone since he has confessed that he has no enthusiasm, ownership or experience with cars. Therefore his opinions on the subject are bereft of any salient value. I personally feel similiarly about those who are regular " contributors " to these forums who rarely or never drive their cars. I am furthermore, left fully unimpressed by those who braggadouciously post about their new addition to their multiple car collection without putting more than a couple of hundred miles on the odometer. While these automobiles are magnifient works of rolling art, their raison d'etre is to provide the super car enthusiast with the exhilaration, and spine tingling adventure of actually driving them. It is these experiences that instill my interest in these car forums.

Allow me take a moment to apologize to the forum in general, and the thread participants in particular. This thread was perfectly awesome until I blew it up with my childish squabble with Noone. Actually, Scrappy took it off the rails first 😜. In any event, I will do better in the future to heed Michelle Obama’s timeless advice:

I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting when I joined MacLife, but Real Housewives was definitely not it.

Nice sentiment, but unfortunately it led to the orange orangutan as president.

Fair enough. Indeed, driving is the central component to owning these cars, but it’s not the exclusive component. I’m guilty of probably achieving similar pleasure out of owning/collecting as I do driving. Alas, I only have time for about 4,000 miles per year, most of which comes in short 50-75 mile jaunts on the backroads of NC by myself. That means I jump behind the wheel roughly 2X per week during the driving season. My limitation is time, and certainly I am not alone in that restriction. Between my awesome wife and kids, several businesses, hundreds of employees, etc every minute is spoken for…twice or three times over.

Dang, is McLaren Charlotte trying to buy up all the 765LT's and corner the market? They have nearly half the entire market inventory for the US. They are currently selling six of them. Also Brooks' LT is up for sale, asking $200k over sticker at Porsche Marin in California.

I think that's exactly what they're trying to do. Risky strategy at the moment, given the recent decline in asset prices.
