I thought color and spec were fantastic. I might be partial to green …
it was a modified car with 4K miles. People have smartened-up with the modified thing and re-sellers have gotten stuck or suckered with modified cars and it made them harder to re-sell.

there was another 720 that sold for $100k below msrp. 12k miles or so . Appears to be a pure mclaren car . Serviced at Mac Philly then Mac Denver and then purchased and titled and re-sold a few months later .

mclaren dealers should do a better job in who they sell limited edition models too

It was a modded car with I think a 452kmsrp which is fairly light. It still sold for 100k over msrp. Prices definitely coming down but not sure if this particular sale tells us anything about the market.

508k msrp already at 525k with 6 days to go. Probably a bit more indicative where the market is.
I personally don’t read too much into bat sales as an indicator of market values . Too much pump and dump sales that really aren’t sales .

so many re-sellers buying cars on bat and then re-posting a few months later with higher values (mainly wholesale values in bat ). I’ve seen a few Senna’s bought by re-sellers that were then listed for a couple of hundred thousand more .

biggest people getting screwed are the ones that bought into the carrera gt sales . A lot of pumping up and a few people took the bite . Hardly any of them meeting the reserve on later listings

it’s a good forum for people to make public sales to set price for other inventory that they have hidden in the retail space.

mclaren owners and mclaren re-sellers haven’t really played that game yet .

I’ll have my 765 until my 296 comes in at a minimum. So 2024. I’ll buy an extended warranty at that point. It’s the best machine for excitement and speed I’ve ever had, easily. Not sure it’s the best car, as that’s a more wholistic discussion. But my hope is that by then interest rates have come down and the market for them is strong. If the market is terrible, I’ll keep the car. Not going to sell something I love at a loss.

From reading comments on BringATrailer, looks like the sale didn't go through because of issues found on due diligence after the auction. Something was mentioned about possibly warranty issues (likely due to the aftermarket downpipe installation). Looks like the sale was cancelled and it is now listed for sale at $699k. List prices for 765LT Spiders are absurdly astronomical. I wonder what the real SALES prices are (if any have been sold on the secondary market). I only see the same cars sitting and sitting... unsold.

On BAT, this is unsurprising. The site borders on being a scam.

Does it make you nervous ? You were a big champion of modifying your car and that there was no implications in doing so .

I’m not sure when people are going to get the memo that there are implications of modifying and having the cars flagged by mclaren . (This started almost 5 years ago )

I'm selling my Serpentine 765LT Spider on Bring a Trailer if anyone is interested. Auction ends on Friday 11/25. Happy bidding and God Bless!

Well….what happened? How much did dealer buy it for? I hope you made out ok on the deal and didn’t get hosed.
