Yeah, true but no one is keeping the 750 or 296 as collectors cars. I also am not planning to keep the either car out of warranty. I’m comparing these two cars so I don’t care about in general statements
I know of a good amount of people that are actually planning on keeping their 765 and especially their 750 in the collection forever, last purely ICE Mclarens to be made. 750 will be a low production run, and 765 is obviously low production as well. The 765 and 750 arguably are the best “all around” purely ICE supercars ever to be made. In 10-20 years from now, these are going to be some very collectible cars, especially crazy MSO spec’d cars. No plans on selling mine, they are as good as it gets for super cars.

The 765LT, yeah I can see that but the 750, I don’t believe it. Everyone plans on keeping their new car they love and then after a few years (or in most cases less), they sell it.
McLaren will make a lot of these, and what I actually believe will happen is they will make another LT car at least before they switch to hybrid.
But anyway, I’m not going to tell you what your friends are going to do in the future.

They as of now, are not going to make another 7 series LT. 750 will be the last dance. It is McLaren though, if the 7 series hybrid replacement takes as long as the Artura did to release and get all the kinks out, we might see another LT, maybe an “R” version.

I know McLaren said that before the 750 came out, but that was also when the rest of the automakers were really hot on EV and hybrid due to regulations also. It seems like all the major players are pushing back or delaying by their plans now, as well as laws (2030 push by Porsche, 2035 by others etc).

Even if not, I simply don’t believe the last ICE car from McLaren would be a non LT

All heck would break loose with a 795LT. but an 808R/HS would sail by. But I'm not sure what the HS/R type numbers are? Is it around just 25 units or so?

I would not be interested at all in an R as the LT frankly is a bit too hard core for my use case. Now an HS, that would be super interesting.

i’m not sure what would get me to part with the 765 but it’s nothing that’s been announced yet ….

They are 100% NOT making another 750/P28 LT car…765 is it. Period. End of discussion. That, however, does not mean the 750 is the last ICE car McLaren will make…There will be an extremely limited send off of this generation…P28F. As a tease, somewhere between 688HS and 620R numbers…Nothing else to add…😉

According to the mclaren people I am in with the 750 will not be limited. They are already dropping unlike the 765lt.

original intended 620R numbers or what was actually produced?

Yeah, as it stands, the 765LT is the collectors car of this platform. End of story. The 750 might get fans like the 458 has for Ferrari, but the values will fall. The LT will hold value a la Speciale and Pista (although there’s actually way more
Pista out there than 765s but whatever)

Frankly that makes me happy. I want these cars actually used. Those buying cars 'to hold their value', are kind of wasting slots that would otherwise be enjoyed.

Cars as investments are horrendously stupid. Even the F1, if you just put that same money in the S&P over the same time period (and include the annual maintenance), you would have done better. And it doesnt get much better than the F1.

These are depreciating assets that need to be enjoyed, IMO. They just depreciate at slower and faster rates.

Clutching on to a 765 and not using it seems to be some kind of awful sin IMO. Then again, if you want to nail your car to the wall and look at it as an art piece, more power to you. Vive la diféfrence!

Another one keeping his 750 :) MSO

I really want to see the MHP-8 even detuned in a new non-hybrid product…. #dreams

Sound likes you've never ever HAD a Porsche in your garage because if you did you'd probably be singing a different tune. Porsches are AWESOME! They've made some of the most iconic cars in history. There's nothing terribly exotic about an AM Vantage and nothing that makes it a better daily driver than a 911, especially if you opt for a 4 wheel drive 911. The Valkyrie and Valhalla are exotic for sure, but a Vantage, while a beautiful and classic-looking car is hardly exotic. I have multiple Porsches, Ferraris and McLarens but never felt the need to buy an Aston.
I have driven enough Porsches to know that I will never have one in my garage. A vantage is a lot more exotic and special car than any 911. I drive the Aston in any weather except snow (very rare in the south). It’s comfortable. Looks timeless and beautiful, sounds lot better than most Porsche. gets lot more attention like a super car than even a gt3RS. And costs less than half for a good used example. Mine has been completely reliable last 10000 miles in 6 months. Why would I bother over paying for a boring 911. 911 is the Camry of sports car. It’s good at everything. Just like a Camry, but no one goes crazy over it.

Honestly I don’t know why we are talking about Porsche in McLaren or Ferrari forum. Porsche should be discussed in bmw forums.

porsche = pay super car money for sport car.
