The 2022 gt3 had a msrp of 161k. It’s now $222k. Absolutely bonkers but to be fair there is no near peer for it. I have no regrets selling mine for a 750
I asked my local Porsche dealership where I am on the pecking order for a ‘25 GT3 and he couldn’t say. I guess I’m not “VIP enough”. I‘ve been a Porsche fanboy most of my life but McLaren won my heart! After one test drive in a 750S, I was hooked. The 750S is significantly more $$$ but it is also on a way different level than the GT3RS/GT3. You won’t be disappointed.

the way Porsche has let dealers run amok is gross. I spent almost a million buying and selling from my local dealer in hopes of getting a 3RS to my spec but nope. They cater to real whales that drop 6 figure adms without a thought. I shouldn’t have to grovel to buy a car.

Porsche is still near and dear to my heart since I was a kid but I don’t see myself back in a 911 anytime soon.

Never was a Porsche fan. I've driven plenty from friends and at the Porsche driving experience in Atlanta. Cool cars but for the money they're overpriced compared to similars in the market.

Give me a GT3 for $120k or a 991 Turbo S for 150k I'm good. The fact they go for 6 figured more is laughable to me.

This is also my opinion about them. They're not bad cars, they're just not special enough for the money.

Cult premium for sure! I've always been a Porsche guy. Incredible cars. Couldn't agree more however with them being priced out of the market. I had an identical experience with my long time local Porsche dealer here that was described by Nu2Mac and I definitely wasn't "VIP enough" by being told the wait to take delivery on a GT3 was 2+ years...AND the worst part is that I should expect to pay an ADM north of $150k. Couldn't believe it...!!

So, I took a flyer on a McLaren Artura and loved it so much, I ordered and took delivery of my second McLaren - a Lantana Purple 750S Spider. Both of them are incredible to drive. Haven't spent much time thinking about Porsche lately...

@TokyoCyanArtura. That is a really interesting spec on your 750S. I am too much a wuss to try such a combo like that but I really like it, and the wing really makes it pop. Well done!

The red on the underside of the wing looks incredible, what a good idea.

Could you share your rationale on why you decided to keep 2 mclarens vs some variety? Is one more daily and the other on special occasions? I thought one day I might do that, interest in your use case.

Volcano Blue is an amazing color. It pops in the sunlight. My Volcano Blue 765LT

Just ordered a Volcano Blue MSO 750S. Your post made me excited. I live in the LA area, looking forward to joining the 750 club.

I don’t mean to turn this into “Porsche bashing” even though it may come across that way. I prefer to call it “therapy via venting”.
We can all agree that Porsche builds great vehicles. I still like the different variants of the 911 (Aka-glorified Beetle) but they are definitely over priced. My wife likes their SUVs and I’m down with that; we have an incoming Cayenne GTS Coupe. It’s sad that Porsche, especially the dealerships, have gone too far with greed and senseless exclusivity. Unfortunately, there are enough buyers willing to pay ridiculous ADMs for mass produced cars. To each his own, I suppose. Perhaps corporate is trying to claw into the exotic market. If so, I think they are going about it in a wrong way IMHO.
Everything works out in the end. I sincerely thank Porsche for steering me to McLaren-a true unintentional consequence. The 750S is the most exciting car I have ever driven! 🤙

Agreed! I lusted after the 997s when they first released and the pricing was obviously higher than comparable BMW's etc., but in today's world, the pricing has gone insane and the dealers are on par, if not worse, than the games Ferrari makes you play to be "worthy"

Thanks Ck...! I found MSO in England to be fantastic to work with. They and my Mac dealer in the SF Bay Area guided me every step of the way. When one spends as much as we do on these beasts, you should get what you want. I really want my cars to be different, so a lot of that went into my thinking on the 750 and Artura builds. Blues and purples are my favorite colors. So, I took a chance on the Lantana purple with the gold and red hi-lites.

Really happy the way it turned out. A local outfit where I live put on some decals to complement the 750 since the above picture was taken. Here are some updated pics. Believe it or not, the logo decal on the aero brake is matte black. But when the light hits it just right it looks grey or even silver. Turned out great....!

Thanks. There really wasn't a lot of logic in choosing 2 McLarens. I've had 911's, a Gen2 NSX and currently have a Taycan. I went to a McLaren drive event for the Artura when Porsche dicked me around on the GT3 RS. That drive was my first time ever driving a McLaren and I was hooked. Honestly, it reminded me of the first time I drove a 911-L in high school that changed my outlook on all cars. It was simply the most fun driving experience I had ever had up to that point. The Artura reminded me of that. It is so quick out of the gate (hyrbrid power) and the handling was just outstanding. Then, I went to another similar event for the 750 and couldn't believe it handled just as good as the Artura, but with much more power. Truly intoxicating combinations in the rural, twisty roads in the Sierra Nevada foothills where I live.

How did you like the NSX 2?

I loved it. It was hard to part with it but I held onto the experience I had test driving the Artura as my guidepost. I also had both the Artura and the NSX for about or 9 months waiting for the 750, so I was able to deeply compare the two and ultimately sold the NSX to help with the 750 purchase.

The biggest difference in the two cars was weight. The NSX was much heavier and ultimately drove like it. That’s not to say it wasn’t a good driving car. It had lots of power and excellent balance. It just didn’t drive like a McLaren, particularly with that light front end.

The second biggest difference was the torque vectoring of the front wheels in the NSX using the electric motors on each of the front wheels. I could actually feel the torque vectoring going hard in the canyons. The acceleration point after turns in the twisties was earlier than any car I have ever driven. The AWD in the NSX was superior to the 2WD Mac in that way.

I actually talked to several McLaren executives about this feature. To me McLaren would be even better with torque vectoring in the front, not just the torque vectoring of the rear differential like mine. Michael Leiters in particular said would he wouldn’t like the added weight that would be required to do torque vectoring in the front of a McLaren.

Both were good cars but I made my choice: McLaren.
