I thought it would be cool to keep a list of the best light cars. IMO, light weight is the final frontier of super cars, and an area where not many succeed.
For me, I consider 3000lbs and up to be kind of porky. 2800-3000lbs not light, but not heavy. 2500-2800lbs chuckable light (where momentum is less nuts at higher speed). 2000-2500lbs to be light cars. 1500-2000lbs really super fly light cars. Less than 1500lbs crazy light.
Curious what ranges you guys consider light, so I set up a poll. When does a car start to be what you'd call light weight (and I get that might be different what that means to different people, but add your comments!).
Anyway, @Tumbleweed started to get a good list going and I'm building off it and update it, below (please let me know if I got any of the weights wrong and I prefer to owner measured curb weights and not manufacturer claims because they often misrepresent):
List of good light sports/super cars
I think I got some of the Ferrari weights wrong because there was some contradiction in the previous list and not sure what to go with. Also, I just added 100lbs to the McLaren spiders, not sure if that's right. Let me know and I'll fix it.
