There are plenty half mile events that pop up across the country that are made for people who like to go fast in their street cars. If you do mod it have him go with you to a half mile event and give him a thrashing
being the fastest one at an airport type event is the bragging right. Not the fastest mclaren . No Mac is going to beat the underground racing Lambos or modified Nissan GT-R.

airport events is where the tuner cars come out to play . I’m not sure why anyone brags about being the fastest mclaren when that isn’t really the accomplishment .

Yes the GTR and UGR Lambos do dominate the event but that doesnt mean someone cant enjoy racing other cars at the track especially some sibling rivalry!!! Also once the 720 has more owners willing to go all out with mods you will see the mighty UGR Lambos finish below top dog 720s. Its only a matter of time

I think the OP needs to define the term "fast". Does he want to be fast around a road course track? Does he want to be fast strictly in a straight line? Does he want to brag to his friends that he has the most horsepower? Theres lots of different cars for each situation. Its pretty simple, want the fastest "stock" cars money can buy around a track? Get a Senna, P1, SVJ, Performante, 918, or 720. You want something that no car can touch from a roll or runway racing? Get an Underground Racing Huracan end of story. Want something that is stock and great at all these things? Get a 720, 600lt, or 570. The OP stated that he wanted to beat his brother, and I'm guessing just in shear horsepower numbers and straight line speed is what he means by this. So why not just buy a challenger hellcat for $50k, spend $5-10k and throw a bigger blower, tune, and drag slicks on there, and crank out 1000 hp+. You'd save a heck of a lot more money and have a lot of hp for the money $$.

Contact Renaissance Speed if you want to go all out modifying.
Thank you for the callout. Yes, we are one of the few, if only companies, that has gone head to head with a M838T against a stock 720S and have came out victorious. As a mater of fact, we have done this consistently for the last three 1/2 mile events we attended. You do not need full aftermarket turbos to win against a stock 720S.

Here is a results page from one WannaGoFast event. Notice the 720S under us:

205591

So while the 720S has better traction with the stock ECU, it is possible to compete and win. We will be releasing our ABSOLUTE8 engine package in a few weeks for customers in similar situations like your. We already have a few out there in the field to rave reviews.

Reach out if we can help.

Thanks

Trust me... its not fun when a modified car punks you at an airport event. (they don't tell you its highly modified and one up you very quickly).

For the stock car people these events are more about running friends and other cars in a similar class and testing the limits of the stock car. I rarely stay stock but ive lost to plenty of vehicles at drag strips and road tracks. Its always fun either way unless its a grudge then losing sucks

If everyone had the same thought in the Lambo community then UGR would have never built the Gallardos. When the inevitable time comes that more shops get involved (which always equates to more development) and build 2000-2500WHP 720s (maybe even 570s) the people currently saying "Its perfect the way it is just buy something else to mod instead", will also be the people sporting the tune of "Yea UR is great but their Lambos cant match the big 720 builds"

I purchased a McLaren 570s and let my brother drive it. The next day he went to the McLaren dealer and purchased a 720s...
What modifications are required to make my car faster than his?
Are downpipes, exhaust and tune sufficient or do I need turbos too?
Thanks!
Interested in upgrading your 570S? Fabspeed offers a full performance package that will get you pretty close to 600whp! McLaren 570S / 570GT / 540C FS-700 Performance Package

Bbi autosport, XPRD turbo kit, M-Engineering tuning has taken this 675lt to 188ish mph in the half mile! As you can see, this eclipses mostly all 720s on the road. They are still fighting traction control to get into the 190s. You can not beat this combintion!!

We have quite a few exciting engine developments around the corner. In addition to our McLaren CNC Race Cylinder Heads w/ Billet Racing Cams released last week, we also have the capability of upgrading the 570S 3.8L displacement to a 4.0L to match the 720S. We have a couple of these upgrades being done as we speak and should level the playing field

Stay tuned over the next coupe of months as developments roll out. Very exciting times!

I have developed the 3.8 liter to 4.0 conversion years ago. Proprietary steel is employed, not ductile iron. The best possible rod:stroke ratios for 10k rpm capability if needed. CNC heads were also developed years ago. Been there, first to develop that!! Also, keep in mind I can stroke and bore you to 4.35 liters. Debuted this motor at Sema like 4 years ago. The market wasn't ready, now it just might be!! I don't use anything but F1 based companies for my internals. Only the best!!

For old times sake...

That was answered above. Sometimes we are ahead of the market. I've been selling engine parts for years to customers, including vendors and shops. I've even done work for dealers. Their customers still call me to this day with kind wishes for all the help. I even recall selling an entire long block, ISG, turbokit, manifolds, main bolts, studs, etc....to a certain vendor on this forum...🤪

So you mean when your build is untested then? We have been running our built engine for years and personally have more records than anyone else on this platform. We have moved on to our second generation McLaren engine builds.

I also remember installing a turbo kit with pry bars and cursing... which is why we gave it away. Also a vendor who did not support his customers in the field when they had leaking stock intercoolers due to said turbo kit. Clearly, our race intercoolers solved this issue.

Let me know how far you want to take this...

Simply, go and trade the 570 for a 765
