I'm new to Mclaren. I'm looking forward to order the Artura in Paris blue.

The display model has the electric seats. While they are comfortable, I am intetested in the clubsport /lumbar adjustment seats.

Has anyone sat in both seats before? What do you think of them? Any reason to go for the clubsport one over the electric one besides the higher price?

I'd go for the electric seats because I want easy access to the rear parcel shelf, plus I assume it will have a memory setting that will allow me to store a set-up for my wife.

 

If you're going to ever take the car to the track I'd take the clubsport seats. I'm actually about to order mine also. Just started looking at all the options

 

I sat in both today. I'm 6-1 with a long back I drove the Clubsport seat and it was surprisingly comfortable to the extent I didn't notice it in a 45 min drive. I only sat in the comfort seats and whilst it has more adjustment it didn't feel comfy but it about driving and trying.

 

My incoming one is the electric comfort seats, but I would have selected club sport if I was ordering today.

The comfort seats are more supportive than you'd think and are compatible for 4 pt harnesses for track usage. The Clubsport seats are more comfortable than you'd think and not bad for daily driving. I was kind of surprised

 

I tested the seating position today. I am 6.4 and I experieced cabin to be little cramped.
In my MP4-12C its a huge positive advantage vs the Artura.

Which seat was it? The club sport seat goes a long way down at the back which helps a lot (I'm 6'3").

 

Does anyone know if the Artura and 570S has same interior measurements?

 

Bump the question. World like a second Mclaren in the garage but Interior seems cramped. A 570 seems to be a decent alternative. Anyone tested both?

 

I have electric seats in my Artura. So about them I can say that they are comfortable, no problem on long distances. Alcantara and side supports absolutely flawless. Clubsport seats I only rode on a test drive and tested at the dealer.
Basic differences:

• on electric seats the position is higher - for me worse
• you have the memory of the seats - it doesn't matter for me.
• you have heated seats, nice for me
• it's easier to get in (clubsport has a higher support and a lower seat - it's clearly harder to take a seat behind the wheel)
• on clubsport, the leather on the sides of the seats will wear out faster.

 

how tall are you? I'm 1.86 m I had about 10cm of room sitting with the clubsport. I'm pretty sure I'll be ok
I plan on driving mine across canada

 

Vertically there’s a lot of room for heads and helmets. I’m all trunk/torso and about 6’ and plump and have plenty of room.

One thing to look at is manual seat height versus electric/comfort in relation to the steering wheel. The wheel could go up a bit more. “Up” as in towards the roof not “out” as towards the driver.

 

I just returned from my dealer to assess the clubsport vs. comfort seat question for my order. My wife and I sat in both seats back to back. I'm 5'8" and athletically chubby at 185lbs and my wife is 5' and a fit 110lbs. We found both seats to be very comfortable. The clubsport does hold you in firmer and would be more ideal for track days than the comfort. The clubsport takes just a bit more of a deliberate maneuver to get into, while the comfort is very easy to slide into. I intend to drive mine daily, so I'm going with comfort seats. It's very adjustable, heated and has memory settings.

 

The memory setting and easy entry/exit are a big bonus.

 

I have the electric seats on the Artura and find them pretty comfortable. I do find that the binnacle is slightly lower than perfection as I sometimes cannot see the indicator lights. That is the only issue and may be because I am 6 feet tall. Its a very minor nit.

I specced the ClubSport seats with 6 point harness on my Artura (my 6th McLaren). They're incredibly comfortable for daily driving, and fantastic track driving seats. I highly recommend them over the other seats. I predominantly track my McLarens and the ClubSport seats have plenty room with a helmet on as well, I'm 6'1".

 

I forgot to mention...I have full alcantara seats, which I feel are better than leather seats against sliding around!

 

If you take your car on the track, the comfort seats with the shoulder strap will feel too loose on hard braking at the end of the straightaway. I have not found a way to cinch the strap mechanism so that it stays tight. On my Porsche, I can move the seat back, yank the shoulder strap to activate the retainer and then move the seat forward against the strap to get it tight over my shoulder. On my Artura, the retainer releases as soon as the car slows or stops. Help me out if anyone has a work around to keep the shoulder strap tight.
