Oh, I can’t afford either, I’m just saying that the Corvette (including the C8) is a great car.
Only been making them since 1953 and over 2 million sold. Again, for someone that has to wear a shirt and hat to prove he owns a brand and constantly posts pictures of themselves by their car, they would never be caught dead in a Chevy. They need to portray a certain status to help with any insecurities.

For the rest of the people that are into cars (from all brands) the new ZR1 is an amazing and pushes the envelope even further. Can't wait to see how the rest of the industry responds. It was great when the 720s caused Ferrari to perk up and step up their game. Ferrari fires back with the 296gtb and now we wait for Mclaren to respond. The new ZR1 has everyone paying attention!!!

Resenting a car that costs half of someone's car and will blow it away performance wise is not a reason to hate it. It's a reason to respect it. A person doesn't have to buy it if they don't want to own it but by posting the same jokes (that no one is laughing at) just shows their insecurities. Shame, as most on here have a passion for all cars. (btw, The guy that does paint correction on most of my cars has a 50k modified car that would blow away any of my cars. I've got Nothing but respect as he makes do what works for him!!!)

The ironic thing is I guess any person on the corvette forums could look at the posts about the Artura problems, accumulator problems, battery problems, etc and make the same comments. Don't buy a car from Woking after a long night at the pub or after a football match. (pretty silly and shallow as every brand has issues)

There are very few Porsches I'd take over a C8.

I sold all my Porsches a few years ago.
McLaren
Ferrari
BMW Motorcycles.
It is a simple life after all.

Pre-existing prejudices against the Chevy ... probably because in the 1990s (when probably most of us were starting to earn $, starting to think we were smart ....) McLaren produced the F1 road car, and Chevy produced ... the Corvette which was a lot of American BS advertising, fast, but mostly trash. So today Chevy may be producing the GOAT, but history gives us deep-rooted prejudices. Chevy's been promising the mid-engine Corvette for 20+ years -- frankly I was surprised they actually did it! But kudos to Chevy if it has the next GOAT, maybe it'll bring jobs back to Detroit. I'm not knocking Chevy, every brand has deep-rooted prejudices against it. JMHO

This ZR1 makes 160 more hp than a P1, and weighs less than a P1. And costs less than $200k with a full warranty. Let that sink in for a second. This car hands down is the biggest game changer in the supercar world $$ for value since the 720 came out 7 years ago. Chevy is on a whole new level with this car. No stupid heavy hybrid bull crap to worry about either! Mclaren, Ferrari, Lambo, etc are absolutely crapping their pants at the moment.
Can we make McRarrBo a thing? I really enjoy it

It's actually close to the same power to weight. As the number of laps add ups the heavier car will see tires & brake limits.
Almost certain it has larger brakes also.
But my point still stand of better power to weight even if it's slightly 🙂(bragging right, or d**k swinging competition as some would say)

Reasonable summary of stuff.
Regardless, I will never buy GM stock either.
History lesson. Growing up, my Family owned Fords exclusively. My Dad a 1968 389cuin V8 F-100 3-on-the-tree, a 1985 F-150 4.9L I-6 XLT Lariat 4-on-the-floor, and an early Ford Truck before my time.
My Mother a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 289cuin V8 3-on-the-tree.
When they gave the Galaxie to my brother who transformed the car into our "Beach-mobile," they bought a 1980 Chevy Malibu Classic V6 3-on-the-floor.
The Fords were great. The Chevy was a POS. Carpet detached everywhere within a week.
Not enough range on the tranny, terrible mileage, and laden with issues.
POS period.

ok.. So stop posting in this thread.
Sure, if you move to a Chevy forum where you will not find people like me...

Surprise your having this discussion with them. There are some people that dont care about performance or technological advancements and only buy a car for the status symbol. Those are the type of people that have to wear the hat or the shirt when they drive the car so everyone knows they are the owner. Also they type that love to post photos of themselves in or outside of the car so everyone knows it’s there’s. The same type that have to hang outside when they valet so no one mistakes them as someone just looking at the car. Those people are the ones that would never be caught dead in a chevy or a ford, no matter how good the car is.

765. My real world weight is 3080 full of fuel. 3080/765 hp = 4.0 pounds per hp.

ZR1 coupe. Real world weight will be 3850. PS is 1080. 3850/1080=3.56 pounds per hp.

11% difference is significant.

I do think your real world hp is a touch higher though.
Perhaps, but I’ve never dynoed it. What I can say is whatever power to weight my
Car is in reality I consistently run 4.7x from 60-130 mph and 4.8x from 100-150 mph. Due to the aggressive gearing, you do notice the rate of acceleration slow after 160 mph.

I’m expecting the coupe ZR1 with no aero to run 4.5 seconds from both 60-130 and 100-150 and trap over 150 in the 1/4 mile.

The car just get me excited. Similar to when thr 720S came out and beat everything so badly that the industry was forced to change. Thats
this car, in my view.

Exactly!!! How can you be a car person and not be excited when something new pushes the envelope and causes the entire industry to pay attention. The end users, and the fans, are the ones that benefit.

i know the ford v Chevy stuff runs deep.

I hate bmw for similar childhood allegiances reasons and I may Be beyond reason as well 😂
