Lots of power correlates with lots of weight. They balance weight with power. In ‘17 they built a hyper car with over 1036hp but 3350 curb. Don’t you think they’ve advanced since ‘17? I do.
Again, if they could, they would. The ZR1 is amazing and at 3850 pounds, full of fluids. With 1080 PS, it’s not that heavy. It has a better power to weight than a Veyron SS. For $200k. It’s incredible. And surely if they could charge $2mm it would be 500 pounds lighter with a carbon chassis, etc. but that’s not the point.

So, if they didn’t yet do it, then that means that they can’t ever? Sorry, I can’t subscribe to that logic.

Of course It’ll be more expensive than the ZR1, but why do you think they can’t make a twin-turbo V8 with about 800 hp and 200 hp in electrical assist?

Either they can or can’t. And I have not seen any competent evidence that they cannot do it. If anything, I’ve seen evidence that they can do it.

PS - I think the ZR1 is extra-special for getting to 1k without electric assist!

I agree a lot with your last line. But that means the zora might be 1300hp with assist. Will the new P1 get to that level? Maybe. Will be so fun to see. I’m rooting for all these companies to keep doing great work. It’s truly a pleasure to see them all doing great work.

Yes! Competition makes this stuff great! I checked out the Lambo forums and they’re not happy that the new ZR1 weighs less, has more power and costs $500k less than the Revuelto. Boy, they are not happy over there! 😂

As for the Zora, it may have electric assist and maybe even AWD. But will be the cost in weight? It may weigh like 4500-4600 lbs while the mclaren is still 3200-3300 lbs.

I have no idea. But not an unreasonable speculation. My guess is the delta between the z06 and the eray would be instructive.

But it’s why I’m getting confused. If that ends up weight say 4200lbs and the tesla roadster comes in at say 4500lbs, it all becomes this mosh of performance and I’m not sure what to think about all these staggering numbers and weights and what they mean.

So why do you have a 720??🤔

I had a c7z06. I did inquire about the ZR1, but highly unlikely I'll get one. I would have 0 issue getting another vette. It's not about what car I have.. it's about giving respect where it's due. W know there are some butthurt people in this thread about the ZR1's ability to absolutely rag doll their precious Mclaren. It's pretty funny.

It's funny some of the owners in here (not all) have this pompous view because it's a Chevy. I gave the car some flak a few pages back but for those saying it's a crap car...other than the looks from the rear (which is subjective) it's objectively a solid performing car for the money (all variants of the C8).

I had a 2015 C7 Z51 and a 2010 C6 (LS3+12.5psi+meth) and both were manual. The C7 was reliable. The C6 was reliable until I started modding the crap out of it so that's of no fault to GM but to the builder at the time.

Funny how some just can't...because it's a Chevy. Hell I owned a Neon SRT-4 back in the early 2000s (fun little skittle haha). Don't discriminate lol. :p All cars are cool to me. It's just some owners can be dicks on all platforms. I can't stand the Vette guys with the chrome and the trophies at a car show and the ones that think it's an exotic or super car because of the performance. No bro it's a sports car. That goes for the 911 crowd too but I'll stop there.

Thanks but does not change my opinion on Chevy products. I tried. They failed. Simple warranty items that McLaren, Ferrari, Porsche would fix within days
- Chevy 9 months! Unacceptable.
Loaner, delivery, Uber... Ya right... Lucky if they offer a shuttle.
Cheap for a reason.

How long have you owned a McLaren??

Acting like McLaren Ferrari and other hand built exotics are reliable too!
:ROFLMAO:

I think you have it reversed. Higher end brands assume you have more than one car. I've always got a loaner when I had my C7 and the law of supplies has made turn around fairly quickly.

There's reliable and lemons in all brands.

This ZR1 makes 160 more hp than a P1, and weighs less than a P1. And costs less than $200k with a full warranty. Let that sink in for a second. This car hands down is the biggest game changer in the supercar world $$ for value since the 720 came out 7 years ago. Chevy is on a whole new level with this car. No stupid heavy hybrid bull crap to worry about either! Mclaren, Ferrari, Lambo, etc are absolutely crapping their pants at the moment.

Yes clearly he has not had to take his car to a McLaren dealer for remediation work. Keeping the car for weeks with no communication and not offering a loaner are table stakes for McLaren.
Never more than a week with my McLaren granted it was just for accumulator replacement under warranty and ppf application.
Ferrari picks up within the day and turns it around in a few days. Window tint ppf ceramic you name it .
Please don't let it be true...are guys recommending a Corvette instead of a McLaren or Ferrari?

Ferrari has absolutely nothing to
Do with window tinting or PPFing as a company. Maybe your dealer specifically but surely there are better and cheaper options for such work. And in any case such meager cosmetic work has no bearing on the cases for OEM acumen in the resolution of issues.

As for reliability, you’re on a Mclaren board blasting Chevy about reliability lol. Cmon.

How are you liking the F8? I'm good friends with a decorated GT driver who later became a ferrari team driver and brand ambassador for them, he sold his pista and bought a Z06, I have driven it, in no way do I think it's a crappy product. It's a great car that punches well above its' weight class
Love it The F8 Tributo is making my 720s redundant!

Go for it guys.
It is fruitless to try to convince me otherwise.
Love TN...Not so much KY...
Warranty this: KY Reds will happily build you a C8 whatever...
Get the moonshine delete option.
Avoid buying a car built on Monday or Friday.
