Yes on all points. That's apparently the Mclarenkilla. I was told.😮
On the streets, an AWD, hybrid, 5.5l flat plane crank twin turbo’d Corvette should kill the 750S. Hard to beat that. Look at the SF90. It’s pretty much an American “budget” SF90.
With that said, the 750S still holds its own against the much more powerful AWD-advantaged SF90. And I doubt the ZR1 has close to 1000hp and will probably weigh the same, if not more, than an SF90.
Just my armchair calculations.

also, keep in mind the 750S successor will by a hybrid V8TT and I’m sure that will reset the benchmark. Especially if they do something like an E-powered front axle (blasphemous yes, but on the streets that is a major help when you get to these power levels).

can bet your ass on this..

zr1's never disappoint.

Neither do z06's really. So much bang for the buck.
They really do great work.

Im looking forward to the C9. I think the 'uncanny valley' some people see here is the car is a really great bridge in design from the C7 to a mid engine version of it. It brought some artificiality with it, in the angular design to show the connection. One that can be very much smoothed away in the C9 and as such I bet it becomes a much more organic and wholistic design.

Not to say I dislike the C8. I think it photographs like poop, but in person, everyone I see looks really kind of cool.

I sure hope you're right about the C9. The C8 is probably the best bang for your buck out there. Get a designer to make the C9 look absolutely killer and look out...

I drove a 2021 Porsche Turbo S & a 2021 720S. 650 lbs/ 300 kgs weight difference was felt on the road & the track.
I tracked my 2022 Turbo S Lightweight for the 5th time yesterday on a very fast track
It is a heavy chunk of car with great acceleration stopping power and grip due to AWD
Really puts the power down exiting corners Easy to drive quickly
Would I have had more excitement tracking a 720 or one of my McLarens ?
Yes
Macs track so much like the sports racing cars I raced for 11 years They just effortlessly go where you point them Tracking a 720 or 765 is just the best / so dang exciting to bang the up shifts which come so quickly
Big Fun 😃

I’m in love with my Z06. It’s amazing. I’m sure the ZR1 will be too
The Z06 is nice but the ZR1 will be the one to own. The two problems with the Z06 are fuel economy and transmission. The fuel economy is downright AWFUL. There's a torque hole in the Z06 that is difficult to overcome. It's somewhat of a design flaw. For example I was on the long back straight at VIR and I couldn't get out of 5th gear (or maybe it was 6th - it was several months ago that I ran it there). The fastest I could go was around 155 mph because that gear was too tall for the limited torque of the Z06 to overcome it. A McLaren, Ferrari, even my C7 ZR1, is easily doing well over 175 on that straight. I've hit 185 safely on that section. I suspect they designed the transmission with the ZR1 in mind where the turbos could get you to redline and into the next gear but the Z06 couldn't do it.

The Car and Driver Lightning laps doesn't use the Grand Course which doesn't feature the full version of that straight but normal people rarely get to drive the Grand Course. The Full Course uses the entire back straight which is where this design flaw appears. That said the Z06 is still an amazing car. Everywhere else on VIR it was absolutely delightful to drive but that one back straight showed off that very strange design flaw. It's also amazing to drive on twisty mountain roads. But if you want to go really fast on track the ZR1 will be the car to own and, thanks to the turbos, will probably give you much better fuel economy as well.

Beware of the build quality.
My C8 3LT Z51 i sold after after a few months of ownership.
The carpet separated/cut sort at factory and was offset.
The warranty fixes required would take 9-10 months for the dealer to fix.
Crap on that nonsense.
Got rid of it a few weeks ago.

Not to mention the car was delivered with the 2nd roof panel with two chips as it was not secured properly in the trunk.
Crap!
Chevy never again!

FWIW I had a C8 and C8 Z06 and the Z06 is definitely better built.
