Not sure, but these look like they could be accumulators-what do you think?
Yeah, but that's just accumulators for the normal dampers, since the dampers need to be short. That's just a packaging thing.

OK. But there appear to be hydraulic plumbing lines nearby - not sure if they feed into the accumulators? Difficult to see in the capture photo.

What's the difference between a z bar and a conventional anti roll bar linking the control arms?
An antiroll bar (aka sway bar) resists single-wheel deflections, but rotates freely in its mounts when both wheels move together. So it provides roll resistance without stiffening the suspension springs.

A Z-bar (aka heave spring) is exactly the opposite thing: It resists vertical movement but rotates freely in its mounts when the car rolls. It stiffens the suspension -- e.g., to counter aero load -- while not affecting roll resistance or single-wheel compliance over rough surfaces.

Yeah, it has dawned on me that I am probably overthinking things. There are no visible lines to the rear shocks, but they could easily just be missing from the model. They could be using the crosslinked dampers as normal, and then the front heave damper and the rear z-bar with active drop-links could be there solely for heave control. That would explain why they don't actually work as anti-roll bars at all.

One thing I still don't understand, though, is them talking about "torsion bars" at the front. I don't see any or see where they could attach to, and neither do I get what they would be for if anti-roll is accomplished by their cross-link damper system.

Yes the torsion bars can be small length. Recall that the Ford GT(40) used them to increase spring rate when car was lowered for Race. Could be something like that in the W

If you like terrible design, enjoy tinnitus, and can handle having the car break down every few hundred miles than the Valkyrie is for you.😉
noise is not great, but the headphones are. and mine has never broken down.
my P1 and Senna has had more issues than my Valkyrie so far...

I haven't read all the posts now, sorry, maybe this detail has already been discussed. But do you know how the air scoop works? What effect does it have?

I would like to mention it again. For me, the W1 is a sensational car. In the world of hypercars, where practically everything has already been produced, McLaren has succeeded in positioning its product in such a way that it does not appear to be a copy of something that already exists, but instead develops its own personal touch and, to my eye, appears completely independent and as a McLaren.

Very well done McLaren, I will remain associated with this brand, I am proud of this product. Unfortunately I can't afford the W1... So congratulations once again to all those who will own this car!

I can't afford this shit, but it's ugly. The P1 looks much better, and more elegant. And still looks timeless to this very day.
It's not ugly. I agree it doesn't look as good as a P1, but things have changed since the P1. It has to compete with the latest hypercars which make much more use of aero, which means that to compete, the aero has to be prioritized over form. I think it looks a lot better than the Merc, all the K-eggs, and the latest Lambos. It doesn't look as good as Pagani, but Pagani aren't chasing ultimate performance as this car is. The only car in its performance bracket that I think looks better is the Valkyrie, but my guess is that it's going to piss all over the AM when it comes to usability, comfort and reliability.
