Used high option 750s will soon compete with high option 720s … most buyers won’t see a 120-150k difference so the 750S will soon be under more pressure than say the 765LT which does not have much competition at all inside mclaren or the supercar market till 500-600k …
Which leads to what will be an interesting dichotomy to watch;

It’s either the market considers the 750 a cheaper 765LT and these prices converge

Or

A slightly refreshed 720s and those prices converge.

There is the third option where they settle somewhere in the middle but I’m not a taker. It’s why I consider anyone spec’ing their 750’s to the moon rather brave.

It’s no LT … it’s not limited and about everyone sees a slightly refreshed 720s in it. The prices will clearly converge to the 720s which considering the way higher cost of options can be a 150-200k loss after 2 years … it was the same with very option heavy 720s and 600LTs … and the 750s does not have the top of the line super series spot of the 765LT nor does it have it’s more track focused more sporty raw image

Not a fan of the lt aero bits, I prefer the look of the 750.
I saw them side by side some days ago … 765LT is way more aggressive looking and also the visible cf front parts that are not an option for the 750s give it a more high end look , same with 4 ended exhaust vs the plug in port …

The 750S is not meant to compete with the 765LT. As we all know the 765LT is the more track focused version of the 720S. It does that by sacrificing some road qualities. The 750S is a 720S with enhanced track features but it still maintains the road going qualities of the 720S.

Don’t get me wrong the 750S like the 765LT and 720S is a very nice car … only thing about it I don’t see is used 500k MSO ones selling anywhere near to their list price when they are 2-3 years old … and I guess that is a sentiment shared by many. For that to happen it would have to be more limited and also a bigger step away from the 720S…

the 750s and 720s when you see them together are so close to each other that non mclaren ppl probably have a hard time finding many differences

I see the 750S today as a good complement to the 720S and 765LT, it is the worthy "last model" of this series. The 750S offers a little more in terms of performance, but makes certain sacrifices in other areas (from my point of view). For example, I miss the folding display and the somewhat more complex front and rear design structure (primarily the banal exhaust design of the new one) of the 720S.

However, I consider the new color design options a win, as well as a few technical assistance systems that (I believe) are mandatory in the EU today.

From that perspective, the 750S is a worthy addition to the two "predecessors", and yes, shame on me, I think this new color design is awesome.

I hope that McLaren will be able to bring in the required profits with it.

Later I think, the 750S will not be able to assert itself in the used car market special. The prices of the two models will dilute and overlap, a well-equipped 720S with few miles will be able to outbid an "average" 750S with more miles. The 765LT I think will remain the high flyer of this series.

I'd love to see a photo comparison that compares each car at several angles so one really gets to see the differences.
