I was on the order list for a 296 GTB but after optioning out to only $410K, was told to get it to $450K or it won't happen.

Why not compare it to the 296GTB? I had a 2020 Acura NSX and I paid $140K for that new, my Artura cost me $255K. The Artura simply blows away the NSX in every way...so much faster, better ride, sounds better, and probably 500lbs lighter. The differences between the Artura and 296 are much smaller from my experience. And the steering, brakes and ride are better in the Artura. The 296 takes the race and has the Ferrari badge. I didn't find the sound on the 296 any better than the Artura...from the journalists you would think the 296 sounds like the 458. I'm one of the few that likes the sound of the Artura, although I concede a big difference with the 720S.
Your dealer sounds like an absolute scumbag

Apparently some folks like me are not good enough to buy a new Ferrari.
Sorry you had that experience man. I wish you were treated better. You shouldn’t have to go to a different dealership or brand just because some dickhead.

Glad you are enjoying the Artura though and I agree with your assessment compared to the NSX. By the way, I think the NSX was actually a good car for the price and was underrated by a lot of people just because it didn’t give them that nostalgic feel of the original, or whatever reason but it’s a good car especially at the price now. With that said, it’s no Artura

The natural burbles in the Artura is a nice touch, puts a smile on my face each time it happens

I mean obviously you CAN but it's a bit disingenuous for journalists to suggest most people will be cross shopping cars that are $200K apart in price. Because that's not true. Even at this level, $200K is a huge price delta. I'm a bit skeptical that most Arturas will be sold to people who have 296 sized budgets. I could be wrong.

#neverscrollup, I think @Jas said it. At that price, you'd cross shop a 765, and the 765 hands down, every day, all day.

I totally get why some folks would go for the 296. Not everyone is a McLaren fan. Not everyone cares it weighs more. If I was looking to replace a Roma or 911TTS or some sporty grand touring thing, and had the money, why not ? And by all accounts it is very very good.

And really, Artura doesn't sound THAT BAD at all. It's a growly little boxer engine. It gets hammered a bit by GPF, but what doesn't these days? Turbos also hurt the exhaust sound some. It's never going to sound like a V10 or V12, and it's not gonna have pops and crackles like a 600LT, but it sounds just fine to me. I drive in electric around town a LOT and sometimes it's nice to not sound like I'm in a racecar. Don't get me wrong, sometimes it's also awesome, and in those moments I wish it had more chutzpah in the exhaust department, but it ain't awful.

Update! Artura has new issues:
1. Choppy acceleration under full throttle. Feels like a lack of fuel to the engine, crazy level of turbo lag or the e-motor not filling in the turbo lag gaps.
2. Vibration coming from the floor.

I’m waiting for Mclaren to reply to my lemon request, they say they have 40 days to reply and will not give me a decision until the 40 days are up it seems.
