>>>The pioneering ProActive Chassis Control (PCC) suspension system, developed by McLaren, has been further enhanced for the McLaren 650S. A feature of the system is the ability to adjust the ride and handling modes – Normal / Sport / Track – in isolation from the drivetrain, which gives complete freedom in terms of ride and handling.

Now that's a bit annoying that hasn't been included into any updates of the existing 12C... ah well.

Noone1, are those performance numbers confirmed or estimated? With a set of R888's that car may see very low 10's with that 139 mph trap speed. Also the 0-60 would be in the mid to upper 2 second range. Amazing that 25 additional crank hp would add nearly 3 to 4 mph in the quarter mile trap speed. If these are confirmed or actual test numbers, I think the car is making more than 641 crank hp. I would think more like 675 crank hp. When I was making 650 ish rwhp in a viper, it was trapping around 137 to 139 mph in the quarter.
Those are McLaren's numbers - the HP increase may only be 25, but the torque has increased by 60 lb-ft if I am reading things right.

Presumably the switchgear and loom have to be changed ( or is the 12C canbus?) but yes I agree as we, the 12C beta teasters. have been requesting it as a mod.

The torque would help explain the 139 mph trap speed. That is flat out getting it for a road car. I'm excited! So are these McLaren test numbers or their estimated number? I would think test numbers. The 650S with the right tires and a higher launch rpm would be real close to a 9 second quarter mile car! Maybe 9.99!

What a difference proper photography can make! Car looks awesome! Perhaps they could've tweaked the rear a little more ( lights/ diffuser) since that's the view most people will be seeing ! :D

After spending the extra loot and installing the new Iris 2, I'm just hoping sat radio can be installed in it. If not......... Then I will be pissed at McLaren!........... Not like they will care though........

No offense, Puck, just not my cup of tea. I loved it when I first saw it, but quickly fell out of love after seeing the HS cars go overboard on the extras and the better versions of the extras on various other models.

I could point out a few things I've grown to dislike, but I don't really want to tell people things I don't like about their car. Seems kind of rude and I'd especially hate it if I made you dislike or regret some aspect of it.

Anyone read the McLaren press release yet.

It says:

The McLaren 650S models are equipped with IRIS satellite navigation with Bluetooth telephony, DAB digital radio (SIRIUS satellite radio in North America), wireless tethering, audio streaming and voice control as standard

Am I correct in saying that the IRIS 2 upgrade for the 12C doesn't include DAB?

If so, pretty poor show that this wasn't included in the ÂŁ2,500 upgrade I bought 2 weeks ago!

You have a Internet radio in the most recent IRIS update and can bluetooth stream any source your phone can receive. Given what Sirius charges and the relatively bland list of stations they provide you are better off with what you have.

(I did the same upgrade two weeks ago so maybe I am rationalizing ... ;-)

Drifter: You are the man. This car looks great and I love this new look. There obviously is nothing you can't do in photoshop. Well done.
I appreciate the comments a lot and from NH4, though Mark does a good job also :) design wise, I really do like the lifted front, I love the fact McLaren doesn't add a stupid angry looking face, its aggressive to look at but not so forced like the other brands, with their frowning headlight designs, though wish they could had done more to the rear, ah well!

I mentioned I earlier with no response,so I will ask again,to me it looks like the side of the car has not been altered, just the turning vane replaced with an extended scoop attached to the outer skin,or am I not seeing something ?? :)

like that...
okay I am dull and predictable...

cant' wait to see the new orange.. that will rock... lets hope its kinda papaya spark... that with dark elements.. wow..
Mikey: There's no chance of you ever going orange. That's why outside our comfort zone. What's the saying "once you go black you never go back"

Now if we can get MSO to supply Drifter's hood that would be something.
