Excuses, and nothing more. The 992TTs has AWD . . . the Artura doesn't . . . neither does the 720s. AWD vastly improves launch. Nevertheless, Mac owners don't makes excuses. Instead, they embrace the benefits of rear wheel drive notwithstanding the impaired launch.

The MC20 and the 992TTs are the two closest competitors to the Artura (the Huracan, R8, MB GT, and NSX were competitors, but are discontinued). The MC20 is notably slower than the Artura. The 992TTs is very fast. That said, the Artura is also very fast (10.2 so far, and likely faster when more are delivered and tested). Moreover, the Artura has a higher trap speed than the 992TTs (at least 140 mph -- Artura runs 10.27@225KM/H (140MPH) via EkanooRacing ). Of course, the Artura is considerably better looking than the ubiquitous 911 Carrera body-style of the 992TTs (and the Artura has proper dihedral doors). In short, the Artura rises above its direct competitors.
Well said. The Mclaren Artura to me individually much more beautiful than either of those and hybrid assistance is the icing on the cake. Spot on. I agree.🙂

Maserati Returns to GT2 Racing with a Heavily Modified MC20
Set up for the GT2 class, the MC20 supercar will hit the track with extreme aerodynamics, a reworked suspension, and lightweight quick-release bodywork.
  • The same twin-turbocharged V-6 sits behind the race driver, but it'll likely make more than the road-legal car's 621 hp.
  • The GT2-spec MC20 features adjustable dampers and anti-roll bars as well as a huge rear wing to go with plenty of carbon fiber.
Maserati will enter the GT2 European Series with a track-ready version of its MC20 supercar. The automaker today revealed the first images of the race car, simply dubbed GT2; a full reveal will take place in June at the 24 Hours of Spa.

Modena, Italy – August 1, 2024 – On Friday, August 16, in the setting of the traditional and unmistakable “The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering” event in California, Maserati is preparing to unveil its newest creation to the world.

Resulting from the Trident's experience on track and dedicated to those who do not wish to sacrifice extraordinary performance on the road, this new car guarantees innovative technological solutions and impressive aerodynamic performance, typical of the fastest and most exciting racing cars.

The Maserati super sports car will be presented as part of one of the most anticipated and prestigious motorsports gatherings of the year, an event that brings together enthusiasts from all around the world, breathtaking models, as well as previews and exclusive auctions: Monterey Car Week, due to take place in California from August 14 to 19.

This powerful car – designed, developed, and produced entirely in Italy by Maserati – inherits the racing spirit of the Maserati GT2, the spearhead of the Modena brand's racing production; at the same time, it is a further evolution of the MC20, the Trident’s halo car, first equipped with the unmistakable V6 Nettuno engine.

The MC20 project represents state of the art of Maserati performance. From the outset of its technical development, a racing evolution was envisaged that would come to life in two directions, with the track version and its road counterpart, developed in close synergy by the same team that shares technological know-how and certain specific components.
The highly anticipated new leading light in the Maserati range will be the focus of this electrifying American show, which offers glamour, style, refined elegance, and stunning array of classic and modern cars that win over crowds and enchant the most discerning of collectors.

Enthusiasts will find themselves before a one-of-a-kind car with an unmistakable aesthetic, defined by a wide range of customisation options, with details typical of a racing car without sacrificing the comfort and hallmarks of road models.

A car destined to be on the wish list of customers attracted by the most extreme super sports cars, is ready to welcome drivers and make them feel like a true racer, even off the track.
The world premiere of this new Maserati, due to take place on Friday, August 16 at 9:12 am PST, will be introduced by Giovanni Perosino, the brand’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, along with Klaus Busse, Maserati Head of Design. The exclusive setting of The Quail will also play host to the MC20 Icona and MCXtrema.

MC20 Icona, a special series produced as a limited edition and inspired by the 2004 MC12 Stradale, was presented in June 2024 and will be seen for the first time in person by the North American public.

MCXtrema, unveiled at The Quail in 2023, is the most formidable Maserati racing car, type-approved for track use only: dedicated to the excellence of gentleman drivers and fans of racing cars, only 62 units have been produced, the first of which will be delivered at the Laguna Seca circuit during Monterey Car Week 2024.

Maserati GT2 Stradale debuts on the road

The House of the Trident’s new super sports car is the leading light in an exclusive driving experience,
on both on the road and the track in southern Spain.

Modena, 20 February 2025
– After its world premiere on 16 August at “The Quail” during California’s Monterey Car Week, the Maserati GT2 Stradale is finally on the road and ready to hit the market, starting in Europe in April.
The debut of the road-legal version of the GT2 that took the House of the Trident back to the track in the closed-wheel championships was christened in Andalusia with a driving experience dedicated to the main stakeholders and customers worldwide. They had the opportunity to test its mettle both on roads out of town and on the track, to emphasise both the souls of the super sports car: racing DNA and the comfort typical of the House of the Trident.
From the charming city of Marbella, the test drive route wound its way through the panoramic curves of the Parque Nacional Sierra de las Nieves to arrive at the private Ascari circuit near Ronda, the pearl of Andalusia. The 5,425 metres of the track named after the Italian Formula 1 world champion driver – who also raced with Maserati – recall the brand's iconic heritage.
Indeed, Maserati boasts a long and glorious sporting history. When the brand started work on the MC20 project, the halo car that marked the beginning of a new era for the House of the Trident, it had already decided to return to the track. This philosophy and the brand’s racing DNA resulted in the Maserati GT2, which took the Modena-based manufacturer back to racing victory in the Fanatec GT2 European Series championship.
The GT2 category is the ideal platform for Maserati's sporting legacy to meet the desires of racing customer enthusiasts – private teams and gentleman drivers – in a project that forms an integral part of the brand’s motorsport strategy to take it back to the podium in competitions.
GT2 Stradale is a car rooted on the track and type-approved for use on the road, with the ability to combine the extreme, refined performance of the racing world with the option of uncompromising driving in the utmost comfort.
A car that can bring together the best of the MC20 and GT2: top speed of 324 km/h; the maximum output of the extraordinary V6 Nettuno engine has been increased to 640 CV (471 kW), 10 CV more than the MC20; acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, making it the most agile rear-wheel drive (RWD) in its category.
For the exclusive driving experience, the GT2 Stradale was kitted out in various liveries, created as part of the Fuoriserie customisation programme. One of the elegant pit lanes at the Ascari circuit was dedicated to the world of customisation, with the adjacent one telling the story of Maserati Corse with the GT2 forerunner on display.
Santo Ficili, Maserati CEO noted: “From the road to the track and back again: moving from the racing GT2 to its road version was a natural step, to epitomise our brand’s performance. With the road debut of what is the pinnacle of our super sports cars, we have created a perfect platform for the customers of this car, which has also been lauded by the media. GT2 Stradale is 100% made in Modena, a mix of Maserati’s two iconic worlds, those of elegance and racing. It is the upshot of the passion, dedication and pride of all the women and men at the House of the Trident”.
Production began last December at the historic plant on Viale Ciro Menotti in Modena. Maserati GT2 Stradale is available in only 914 units, as mentioned on the specific badge positioned on the central tunnel. The lettering “1 of 914” is an explicit reference to 1914, the year Maserati was founded.
