Bid for the chance to own a 2021 McLaren 765LT Coupe at auction with Bring a Trailer, the home of the best vintage and classic cars online. Lot #101,377.
yes, I have the touring ones which have about 0.75" of extra padding on each side.LOL. Those seats should be fantastic for you. For all the debate over the pad thickness, from what I've seen they appear to be customizable. If I compare yours to mine, the pads look the same except for the shoulders which are much thicker on yours. I've been on a building phase in the gym the last few months and I can tell my shoulders are getting bigger because of the fit in the driver's seat. 😂
those are air bags! can't tell the difference? pffff.....
oh boy....... keeping the miles low for the next guy.Maybe I can sneak my new owner questions in here instead of starting a couple new threads. Wondering if anyone has advice for the following:
1) The service overdue light is on. The car did have service done, which shows on the CarFax, but the light wasn't reset. Is there any way to do this individually or must it be done at a McLaren dealer? I do not want to add 100+ miles to the car just to get a light turned off.
2) I usually swap out to a better looking steering wheel right away on all my new cars. The 765LT wheel is rather dinky and disappointing. Any reason not to switch to an aftermarket wheel?
3) Same with the seatbelts. I like switching them to a better color combo. Either orange or gray for this one. Any words of warning or am I fine to proceed?
Extra padding is the race pad. Holds you tighter.yes, I have the touring ones which have about 0.75" of extra padding on each side.
Well, after 2 months of bidding on 765's and losing out every time, I finally got one and have a price point to guide with values.
It is the Nardo Orange/Dove Grey one that I won the BAT auction for a month ago.

I spoke with the seller after the auction and ended up buying it for $430,000. MSRP was around $390,000.
I overpaid because I was getting desperate and because I had lost out on 4-5 765LT's that I was bidding on recently. But I was also willing to pay extra for a unique color combo. From what I've seen online I think there might be only 2 cars in this color spec in the country. Regardless, I'm happy.
can you tell me so I will get onecongrats man! told you you'd get one.
really? I must have been thinking backwards. I thought "touring" was another word for "comfortable" and therefore I thought the comfortable seats were the ones with more padding.Extra padding is the race pad. Holds you tighter.
Yeah, I'd love to speak to someone who could definitively answer about half a dozen simple questions about them. I've heard from two people who ought to know that the shells come in wide and narrow, but others swear the only difference is the pads.really? I must have been thinking backwards. I thought "touring" was another word for "comfortable" and therefore I thought the comfortable seats were the ones with more padding.
window sticker says "seat size - standard" so i guess that answers the question.
I believe touring means thicker padding.really? I must have been thinking backwards. I thought "touring" was another word for "comfortable" and therefore I thought the comfortable seats were the ones with more padding.

lol you beat me to it !The shells are the same. At least in my experience.
Touring is thinner padding, not thicker. As in, more room in the seat and thus more comfortable for larger people, or for longer trips (touring), or if you are at all claustrophobic. The regular/thicker padding makes the seat tighter, and lot of people find them less comfortable. My 600LT came with touring pads and I swapped with someone who had the regular/track pads. They literally just Velcroed out. It was a simple swap. No change in seat shell at all.
Also, the thicker padding doesn’t mean “cushier”. The thicker padding is really only on the sides, not in the actual seat under your butt iirc, so all it does is make the room in the seat, side to side, smaller and thus tighter for track use.
On my 765LTS I got the regular padding and some portions almost look like there are two layers and you could just take one layer out to make them “touring”. Although I think that’s just in the shoulder area, not in the hips, but I’d have to look again.
I am not a big guy, athletic build and about 180lbs and I like the standard (thicker padding) seats because I like being held firmly in the seats. However, for anyone much bigger than me I think they would be too tight and uncomfortable.
I put an aftermarket steering wheel on my 600LT. Did it myself. It was easy and didn't cause any issues. It did reuse the McLaren air bag system.
I don't think it's that simple. Touring are the thinner pads, agreed, but if you compare these pads to mine they look to be the same thickness everywhere except in the shoulder pad which is much thicker. For Senna Seats a.k.a. Racing Seats (as listed on the spec sheet for my 600)
Both shells are the same size whether touring or standard
Touring: The pads are thinner and afford more room/volume for the driver - i.e. a looser fit, for larger-sized drivers
Standard: The pads are thicker and allow less room/volume for the driver - i.e. a more snug fit.
For jaspirr's build, it's standard size and that's why it fits so snug because the padding is thicker. The big giveaway is the padding size next to the thighs, you can tell right away if it's Touring vs. Standard size as the Standard are significantly thicker. One quirk I've noticed that 765's seem to have much thicker padding on the headrest compared to 600 Senna seats. People with broad shoulders tend to find the Standard size Senna seats uncomfortable.
Correct.Assuming you disconnected battery when doing this, and when you plugged everything back in, no lights at all?
Very good to know, thank you for the reply!Correct.
Where did you obtain your senna seats ? Are they OEM ? I will take some measurements with pics when I get home in two days and we can compare. It will be a fun science experiment. System International units, only.I don't think it's that simple. Yes, they're OEM, from another car. I've been wanting to compare measurements with someone. All my pads are the single thickness ones, but I've seen pads where your thighs are which are thinner than mine. My guess is that over the years the pad design may have changed.Where did you obtain your senna seats ? Are they OEM ? One thing to note, it was a Carismo wheel. I think they might be taking a stock McLaren steering wheel and they modify them, so that’s probably why it works. I would imagine a built from scratch aftermarket wheel would need to have the center airbag unit installed in it to work without issue.Very good to know, thank you for the reply!
That's shocking for a Mclaren.
Take the front bumper off a Lexus I have to get it scanned and cleared...![]()
