McLaren has renewed its partnership with engine-supplier Ricardo, which will build a new hybrid V8 to power the firm’s future models

First off the new patent application from Mclaren means we could see THREE (3) Electric motors on the front axle (if this is the deal then we are talking the 1200LT+) I feel this is more for a hypecar (P1 replacement) than road car
More likely I feel that this new 700 series replacement is the biggest news yet combining Performance and technology inside the cockpit and outside into one beast of a vehicle, with the base 750S engine already a beast then adding 1or 2 electric motors I feel we will see 1000+ HP in a selectable AWD/RWD platform
My thought is also we will see a considerable improvement to the technology and integration inside the cockpit making this vehicle More track ready and Drag proficient
Top few changes love them or hate them I feel will be coming
1- Selectable AWD/RWD with (1) 100+ front mounted electric motor driving the front wheels and (1) 180+ electric motor driving the rear wheels
if they use the new patent then (3) front motors and the 750S power train in the rear I would estimate a total power output of 500HP minimum and possibly a balancing act of 750HP front and 750HP rear I feel this is more for a new HyperCar than Road Car
2- improved Safety features (fingers crossed they are selectable)
3- Steering wheel controls added (with this kind of HP more control options need to be at your fingertips to allow both hands on the wheel at all times with this kind of power)
4- increased weight due to the motors (even with limited range)
5- Regen brakes
6- Adjustable launch control (to manage slip and variable condition changes)
7- instead of 3 modes in active mode we will now get a 4th mode for Drag racing when combined with the Launch button will enter a Cheetah Version of the Tesla plaid mode)
