Previously kept this within the owners thread, but now out in the open!

McLaren are one of the official sponsors of this great event and so the very least you would expect is that they would have been keen to get all owners involved.

First tweeted Dan Connell (Global Product PR Manager, McLaren Automotive)
at the beginning of the month (following his own Tweet to say that McLaren were official sponsors) to see if they were laying anything on for McLaren owners – no response.

Tweeted him again last week and received the following response on 18/7/12:

“Hello Alan. I'll ask one of my team to contact you directly with details of the event. I expect it will be fantastic. Enjoy!”

Nothing since.

Emailed my usual source this week at MTC and received this response:

“Thanks so much for your email – I am not aware of McLarens involvement in this event this year but I will contact my Events team to see if I can find anything further”

Still no response.

So it looks like McLaren have officially given up on all of us UK customers and no longer give a sh*t about us.

Andy C and all the other unofficial PR advocates of the brand, I was like you, but now I am firmly in Bruce’s camp, but without his dosh fwiw!!

It would also be nice to know if they have any plans to roll out an F1 from their collection. It is afterall, the pinnacle of supercars from the 20th century and still holds its own against the many offerings of today. They have several great examples to choose from too.

I've literally just had an invite to this from David at McLaren Birmingham, apparently there will be some special 12C parking in a prime position, so let's hope the weather is like today!

Hope to see a few 'McLifers' there!

Great great car Zippy - shame about the other stuff.

Ferrari dont give a sh-t and you know it, Mclaren just miss so many tricks. I do however believe the will is there so they will get there one day . Just not yet it seems:rolleyes:

Hi Phil

David has done the business and got me a ticket, like yours, courtesy of London.

Still waiting for it to arrive via post though, but will definitely be going, come what may!

Not great at early starts, but will probably get there around 10:00.

Should be some London (dealer) owners going, but guess they don’t post on here.

See you Sunday

Word on the street is that the ROFGO Collection of Gulf racing cars will be displaying their longtail McLaren F1 GTR - chassis #22R - at this event. Here it is seen recently at the Spa 24Hours. Not sure if it will be paired with one of these 12C GT3 cars, but perhaps?

McLaren have fully supported this event and have arranged for a number of drivers to be present
