I have been going on and off again about the car but i think I'm about ready to go and order one,
I'm playing with the configuration and will let you know what i choose, and i will welcome your feed back, I'm going to start with either white or Mclaren orange and go from there.
Pls feel free to chime in with your spec's

If i could get a serious answer from my dealer about MSO stuff i might go a bit crazy but they just try to sell me the cars they have in stock instead of what i actually want

I can't believe that the dealers have cars in stock. Over here in the Uk we have been waiting for 2.5 years to get our car and you say that there are cars in stock in the US

I must be in the wrong country, still at least the MPC is only 15 miles from where I live!!!!

Chris,its more likely they are cancelled orders,but i think in the states car dealerships can make more profit by stocking cars and selling well over list,something thats not done over here,so i suppose they could have a few that they have ordered themselves

Over here in the UK the London dealer stopped delivery to the speculators even though the 'original' customer had paid a deposit. Thus they had a 'stock' car. I actually give them 10/10 for their attitude.

Thats refreshing,but i still think they should look at their letter of intent policy on a car that doesnt exsist,so that current Mclaren customers can get a look in at the next model,such as Bruce who has supported them from the beginning and is not in it just for a punt!

Andy, trouble is we were, I suspect, spoilt by Porsche when they were sub 20,000 units per year and the dealers always put you on the list for the next model. Loyalty is built both ways to the Brand.

If you are planning on selling, I would be very surprised if your dealer did not want the car back.

I agree that the post by Max looks like some sort of fraud. As for me, I have placed my order this week, I should receive the car at the end of August, and then intend to put a whole load of miles on it. My spec is what I call "ultimate steath". This is to be a driving car, devoid of bling, so it will be as follows- carbon black, stealth wheels, stealth pack, black callipers, standard wheels and brakes, standard exhaust, extra -plenum- noise turned off, black leather and alcantara, and carbon interior, standard seats in other respects. Can't wait, but not long really.
