I think you guys are Driving Ms. Daisy. My car shifts up and down astonishingly fast and I typically use the Sport/Sport manual setting. Unless in auto mode, however, I rarely shift to higher gears below 5000 RPM. I'm not sure why anyone would shift up three gears all at once anyway. What is the point? I also don't tow boats with the 12C, so maybe it sucks at that too.
Hitting 8000 rpm in 1st is already over the speed limit on most roads, let alone 5000 rpm in second. I like to get my thrills in shorts bursts and be able to go quickly to my cruising gear after. As someone said above, like when go full throttle getting on to the expressway, and then wanting a higher gear once you hit 90 or so.
Ok. I get it. All good. I just hit the active button on the freeway ramp example and it seems to pop into 7th pretty soon, but not immediately, as you said.
