Love the passion, but nul points for the name. Cars are all girls, surely?

Ps. I christened mine Gina.

I'm looking for a name for my car. I usually try to think of something slightly over the top, in ironic self-mockery: my Moto Guzzi Griso motorcycle was called The Terrible and Inexorable Wrath of God; my blue R8 the Blue Wraith & the black R8 Cabriolet was The Black Widow.

If you're partial to cider, how about White Lightning?

Someone in Greenwich was really thinking on this one. Comments were smartly disabled on that video. :D

Oh Lord!
Can I cancel my order please.
I do think it very beautiful also, but so glad I do not live in USA (now anyway - no offense). I would have to know the attendance sheet for all events etc., love the car, but sorry, must rush to the toilet...................

I can't help feel that if I were Jenson, I could feel slightly unmanned by that. Maybe Jessica is more appropriate.

Now if the car were a good manly dark shade, silver or grey somehow it doesn't seem so bad christening it Jenson.

Bright colours = girls, Dark colours could be = boys ?

Discuss...

Meanwhile, there's a thread over on Pistonheads with some great name choices coming out of the woodwork:
A Monaro called Sheila
A Lotus called Venus
An Astra called Lavista (think about it)
A Saab called Lisbeth

I don't know how many of you gents saw the full description of the video on youtube beyond the first part but here it is:

"McLaren Greenwich had the great pleasure on delivering a McLaren MP4-12C to a special client that will drive her car approximately 7,000 miles over the next few months.

The owner is a real enthusiast, track driver, and ships her cars around the world to experience and challenge some of the best race tracks. Her car arrived just in time, and she has been waiting for this special day for quite some time. "

If it's true, and I don't see why Mr. Jones of McLaren Greenwich would bother to lie, it's a great thing to see!! We need more people like her to buy the McLaren and drive it as it's build for rather than being a garage queen!!!!

to be honest Andy, I was laughing my head off when I saw the video as it first got posted on the forum and showed it to my wife as well, but I figure, it's that lady's $, and she can call her car whatever she wants!:) And if she really drives her cars that much around the world and has the means to do it, more power to her!!:) We can all have a good time finding a better name for the car, but it's just great to see her enthusiasm on a car that we all love.

Now I just need to figure out when to become an owner myself (still can't get the test drive experience out of my head from 3 months ago but need to take care of other things first before taking the plunge.................:)

Regardless of choice of name, she gets my vote for obvious passion, 7,000 miles and flying it around the world.
Look forward to having her join us on here...

Equally (I am) dead serious that it is SO good to see real passion, and more of that is only going to come from someone so overtly keen and pleased with the car. If you are out there, we await your views on this forum, and would love to know how Jenson has performed so far. A couple of bold dark stripes down his front would add to his masculinity I think. Best wishes.
