That run was a second slower than factory claims!

After I beat the 458 by 10mph in a recent half-mile top speed shoot out, apparently a bunch of irate Ferrari guys complained to John Hennessy (the organiser of the event), asking what was wrong with the Italia? He had to explain that nothing was wrong with it, the 12c was simply faster!

Yes, that's me and my wife. Traction, not power, were limiting both cars in the 1/4. The Ferrari in particular would spin on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. Best runs of the day were 11.5 & 125 for the 458, 11.24 & 130.4 for the MC.

Curious to know if Hennessy has any comments on the mp4---if so, please share!!

He reckons its a very impressive vehicle, and he thought that 700hp should be easy to get from the engine. He also offered to build me a new high flow exhaust system for free as part of his R and D effort on the Marque, but I'm not sure I want anyone taking my car for so long!

Be carefull Tex,ive heard alot of stories over here about the use of customer cars for alot longer periods than they were expecting!!
Im sure it would be fine,but once its in bits,people can get side tracked on other projects,and if its at no cost,hey whats the rush
