Great article.

That's taking the English language and it's wonderful vocabulary way too literally .We may need to call it something different, but definitely not "soul".

A dictionary quote is not the be all and end all , language constantly changes and mutates and I'm not even referring to creative license or words used for effect ( something a simple dictionary cannot capture ).
Surely you know what is meant by soul? I do and to me my cars have soul , a car with no soul is like a washing machine . Something that does a job and only that , basic , boring and soulless . I don't like cars like that

It's very personal, this "soul" or "character" thing. It's more a reflection of the person's personality on the car. Some prefer the more "emotional", others the more "precise". You'll never convince either one to prefer the other.

In defence of the speedhunters author, he was implying that the "soul-less" arguments agains the 12C are rubbish, so ironically I think he would agree with both of you.
There is definitely a common theme here, however - that the 12C is so precise it lacks some of the character traits of other cars that I would actually call "flaws". Fine by me.
