Here we go again... The "soul" thing again. Only living things can have a "soul". End of discussion.
We may need to call it something different, but definitely not "soul".I strongly disagree .
That's taking the English language and it's wonderful vocabulary way too literally .We may need to call it something different, but definitely not "soul".
"soul[ sohl ]
1. the principle of life, feeling, thought, and action in humans, regarded as a distinct entity separate from the body, and commonly held to be separable in existence from the body; the spiritual part of humans as distinct from the physical part.
2. the spiritual part of humans regarded in its moral aspect, or as believed to survive death and be subject to happiness or misery in a life to come: arguing the immortality of the soul."
No mention of any cars or inanimate objects here.
I agree. Just having a little fun here. That's taking the English language and it's wonderful vocabulary way too literally .
A dictionary quote is not the be all and end all , language constantly changes and mutates and I'm not even referring to creative license or words used for effect ( something a simple dictionary cannot capture ).
Surely you know what is meant by soul? I do and to me my cars have soul , a car with no soul is like a washing machine . Something that does a job and only that , basic , boring and soulless . I don't like cars like that
