I have always wanted to swan around in an old Merc drophead but always shied away as I am bloody hopeless at mechanics and also quickly fall out with cars that do not start and go on command!

Anyway....once in my life is my current justification.

A friend (not the issue) is selling a one owner (father in law) 55,000 mile auto drophead in fair condition but some rust on the wings by the wheel arches.

Does anybody know how to value such a car? Trawling the web there is a wide set of prices from £5k to £15k with some above £25k

Any views on ownership issues?

Do they have indicators accessible by the passenger ??. That would be my first question ;):)
But I have to agree,it would suit a Gentleman of your standing down to the ground, very fitting.

I wish I could contribute meaningfully to this thread also, as RIC in a classic merc has got to be up there as all time cool..

Is that the Bobby Ewing car?
The owner lived near Beeston Notts and only had a flat cap, never a 10 gallon type. Liked the ladies though.
