Thanks bruce. Please give it a proper thrashing soon and let us know how the gear mods feel. Quite anxious to know if they made it better, not worse!!

Ive got the new AM310 coming & the 458 Spider so im thinking about the 12c spider ( i will see ) :):)
Local dealer called me for the upgrade and will be sending in next week. Is this upgrade the one mentioned in the letter? The remote passenger door opening, does it just unlock or does the door unlock and lift up?

Yeah & pig's FLY ( business bad ) the taxman don't read this Bruce :D:D:)
I got my car back together with the new keys - doesn't feel much different
Also had mine back on Friday after going back to B’ham to fix a couple of software faults (tyre pressure monitor and air bag fault warning).

First impression on quick blast after it being delivered was that it wasn’t as fast!!

After a couple of days I think that this because you have to be more aggressive on the throttle than before – might be me, though.

Auto definitely better from cold, but found the car is now lumpier when off throttle and coasting up to traffic lights, for instance - jerky.

Not gone through any of the set up options to see if there were any additional options yet, although manual says that you can now select Global or Drivers options. Appears that if you select Drivers, only the drivers door opens.

Quick double press of the remote opens the drivers door – much better.

Haven’t mastered the passenger door yet though, just read the manual again, long single press to unlock and open.

In answer to Andy’s question, don’t think it is worth getting the upgrade just for the sake of it, no real difference, apart from the doors.

When car was collected the job sheet said 8.3 and so not sure if 9.0 done or if it exists at mo?

Thanks Zippy,i think i will keep mine as a quick one then!;)
Gents, got the car back Friday, everything appears to have been fixed with regard to the PCC fault (loose wire on PCC control unit) and airbag fault. I agree with Zippy though on software update. It feels different to me in a couple of ways, and neither of them are good. First, it seems harder to maintain a constant speed in the lower gears. It feels like you are either accelerating or decelerating all the time, but there's very little in between, i.e., it's harder to just coast along. It also seems to me that the shift time is now a little slower in sport mode too. I hope I am just imagining these things, but my initial impression of the software update is thumbs down. Door opening is an improvement though, double click for drivers door, click and hold for passenger. Seems to work reliably.

The most troubling issue for me though is that car has come back with a hairline crack in the diffuser (I don't have carbon one). It starts at the far right side of the reverse light opening, and wraps around the top side, about an inch long in total. I don't know if the dealer damaged it, or if this has just developed on its own, but I am becoming very tired of getting issues sorted only to have new ones pop up almost immediately. I love the car, and the dealer goes out of his way to try to make things painless, but I already have a full time job. I also just noticed that I have the paint issue at the back of the rear windows as others have observed (color VO). Make it stop Mommy. I just want to drive and not worry about these annoyances.

My weekend did have a highlight though. I got to meet Kazutoshi Mizuno at the 2013 GT-R Experience event that Nissan held at Monticello Motorclub in New York. At lunch, he gave a 45 minute presentation on the design and development of the car. Absolutely fascinating, the man is brilliant. The best was that the entire event was FREE to GT-R owners. There was generous track time with instructors in both your own car and the new 2013 model, and you got all sorts of freebies: jacket, hats, and incredibily, a personalized Bell SA-rated full face helmet, which Mizuno-san graciously signed for me. A truly first class event. I can't even imagine how much Nissan spent on this. Very well done. Ron, your turn. :)

Well I did not want to say but the gear change in sport is slower imop

When I change from drive to reverse there is a snatch

So agree the doors good! Gears not good
I got my car back before the weekend. The update is really amazing. The gearbox is now really changing gears faster, better and earlier. It seems the Engine got more power, but in fact it is only a better throttle response. Very nice. Now the engine is not working anymore against the engine when you are stopping. <thst was really the best and most efficient update. Now you can open with the key both door. One after the other. From my experience the fuel consumption increased a bit by abt 1 l/100km/h, but it's okay.
