These cars should now be starting to be in customer hands - yet there are no posts on here:confused:I know the forum is in its infantcy but even so I am surprised;)

My car is due end of the month yet I spoke to a guy local who told me his car was February delivery but now is end August as well.

What have you been told about your delivery:confused:

find that hard to believe,as Mclaren have to put a few cars around the 35 dealers first to keep the interest up,so no way is a feb car coming in august.mine is in the top 10 from manchester mid to end august,a feb car would be group 2 or 3 in the uk,if you are in group 2 thats possible, but not group 3,they have to look after the rest of the world
Will let you know what happens with him . Mine is due week 35

If I dont get mine then I think I will loose interest:-(

Patience Bruce, it's McLaren's first "mass production" car and one worth waiting for. They are now delivering showroom and test drive cars first to European dealership. You will be getting your car even before Asian dealers get their test drive and showroom car. My delivery is scheduled on week 48.

Sorry to say i disagree - they are fortunate to have me as a customer as with all depositors! I do not feel they have done a good job with the buying experience to date and they have had my money since november 2010. A finite delivery date should not be too much to expect:mad:

The car is already 3 months late. What is the cork in the bottle it is NOT the sat nav, so what is it!

Why would you say it is not the IRIS?
What happened to the customer car that was headed to Manchester?
customer picked it up this weekend i assume
Why would you say it is not the IRIS?
Because that was resolved weeks ago in that it would not be supplied.

The factory is full of cars so why are they not being delivered

Seriously thinking of cancelling unless I am given a specific 'You can receive your car on -----'
I am sure there are tons of people who would be happy to get your spot in line. Whatever the reason I am sure you are better off waiting now. Just be patient. Even Porsche and BMW get it wrong during the middle of a production run.
4 cars to dealers last week apparently Manchester and Brum and 1 gone to customer of those so the trickle begins:)

That's great news. :)
Now, somebody find out who that customer is and tell them to start posting here for the rest of us!!
We are in week 31. Hang in there, just 4 to go.

No I will not loose my deposit Andy they have broken contract, and an 'unfair contract' as those issued are not consistent. In any event I am convinced there would not be an issue there.

Lost confidence at present and I need a supercar for a charity event I organise in September I planned to go to France on 2 nd September with the car and am not in a financial position to have a selection of cars of this type to choose from unfortunately so will need to buy something else if not available and reality is McLaren will not guarantee a delivery date which leads me to believe it wont be. To compound this I go to my home across the pond for October so each extra day late moves it nearer my absence and how much use do you get November to March.

June delivery was fine, then July was fine ,then mid August was ok even the second or third day of week 35 is good but nobody will commit

Be very sorry indeed if I have to cancel but I have waited a very long time ,they have had my money commitment for a long time and I think it has gone beyond the stage of just waiting with no committment from the Manufacturer.

My deposit has been down since July 2010 and never promised deliver before Q4 this year.
If you didn't commit until November 2010, sounds like you have been bumped well up the list.
Like all of us below you who have been waiting patiently for longer, no issue if you cancel, as makes our delivery nearer.

Hmm.. if you need a car that soon, you probably need to buy something that is already sitting on a dealer lot or up for sale privately somewhere, no? What would you get instead? Maybe the Merc SLS would hold its value decently if it is only temporary, i.e. if you decided to keep your spot in line for the 12C?

I just don't know what you can compare to the 12C as a long term ownership proposition? Something older, maybe? Carrera GT?? Ford GT??

Sorry that you have those time constraints and dilemma. :(

In this case, if the funds are available, I would suggest buying a Ferrari 360 Spider. They are now basically fully depreciated and you should be able to get resell it again with minimal loss fairly quickly. Not sure which McLaren dealer you are buyiing through, but you might check to see if they have a Ferrari dealership within the group and if so can a deal be done with a guaranteed repurchase price.
[/I]I shall keep my place and have to wait until they deliver > I guess my point is I should be told when this will be -as all customers whos deliveries are just round the corner should. If you are expecting delivery in Q1 2012 for a car nobody could reasonably expect delivery date cast in stone but when it 'should' be 3 weeks away i believe you should. Maybe I am being unreasonable. Anyway I will do my charity trackday ride in a supercar and use a Nissan micra:D Scott 360 isnt a bad call:)

Thank you guys for your input it has been helpful btw I thought SLS were depreciating badly here??
After reading about all the delays, spoke to my dealer today and he mentioned my car will likely be delayed as well. Told me he will have more concrete info in a week's time. I am scheduled for eta on wk48
