Looking ahead I'm just shopping about for costs on tyres, wondered where UK owners are getting them replaced cost effectively?
As far as the retail cost goes, its a consideration but an undamaged rim is also quite important to me at the same time.

I've called the local-ish Pirelli centre in Warwick who have come back with a cost of £439 all in for a rear.. that's for a Pzero- not a Corsa
Looking on Pnues online they are showing as £271.92 including delivery, now with buying through quidco and a 2.6% cashback that makes a considerable saving over the local centre!
However there is probably a cost of £25 fitting fee and the danger of the tyre monkey not really caring about the work :(

Has anyone tried the dealers? is it worth the extra or any other places to recommend?

ric and I have been using Camskill at £306,but another member has found them on ASDAtyres !!! at £265 fitted, approx, they give you a choice of about 4 local fitters so you can check them out before hand.My fitters also charge £20 so its a £60 difference, let us know how you get on Gary.

Are the MC1 rated available outside the dealer network at better prices? That's useful to know as I found that on my prior car it was actually cheaper getting them from the dealer for the r8 specific rated tyres as I was told the dealer network basically had hoovered up the supply of them (only pirelli were r01 rated for it) and it was pretty tough for anyone else to get them so I was expecting the same thing.

Did ask the london dealer last year when I got my car and I was quoted around mid 300s for a rear tyre... not sure what they are now though.

ASDA have them at £283.64 and I think I can get them fitted by Protyre- who did do some of my previous Porsche wheels.
It's not of an urgency just yet, but worthwhile knowing for when I get back from my road-trip...
I'll email Birmingham and see if they can be competitive..

Just spoken to the Pirelli 'specialist' centre in Warwick- ~ Silverline wheel and tyres to check that they weren't quoting on the wrong tyre.
They assured me not and that when I asked about the price difference, their response was- best go get them somewhere else then!

wow! they musy be busy  - I may ring them back and ask how much they charge to just fit tyres ;)
