+1"But if it's the McLaren that stays with me, it's the Ferrari that feels so much richer as an experience when you're behind the wheel."
So, of the three, the P1 is the one the sticks in the mind because it is so good when you drive it, so the Ferrari wins because it is better to drive. What?!?
It's writing (and logic) like that which makes a mockery of this being called any sort of "test". An more honest statement would be, "They are all different and I just happen to prefer the Ferrari"? Why not just say this is a road trip enjoying the current crop of hypercars?
The only moderately meaningful answer will be if (when) the Stig gets to track each of them on the same day. That alone will give some kind of semi-objective information, but this "This one is best because I like it" is pretty pointless.

A LaFerrari owner weighed his car (can't disclose the name) and was shocked at how much it weighed. Basically Ferrari has a test embargo for all LaFerrari testing.
Porsche calculated that the 918 is about 0.8 sec faster on the top gear track than LaFerrari. The 918 also set the record for the top gear track and small Le Mans track.
The poster is highly knowledgeable and has some connections from within Porsche.tristatez28lt1 said:Well guys it is true. 1675kg for LaFerrari. I believe this is with driver but not completely topped fluids. The weight is also the reason why Ferrari has not (and will not) let anybody test it.
My fearless predictions, when the dust settles:
LaFerrari is the best street car
P1 is the best roadcourse car (faster circuits)
918 is the best autocross / tight circuit car (AWD)
P1 curb weight is 100 lbs heavier than the LaFerrari with the same quantity of fuel onboard (larger battery / hybrid system)
I'll weigh both cars once the LF arrives. I'll also offer an unbiased comparison of the P1 vs LF.
Sorry, but no conspiracy theories here. Only what I've been told. Cheers.Oh come off this nonsense. The whole top gear P1 pulling out rubbish was obviously due to the weather as it was bloody pouring down at the time. No need to come up with more silly conspiracy theories as some people did to knock the P1 at the time.
And Porsche have long admitted that for safety reasons they ran a fixed roof 918 for the record ring run. As long as they didn't re-engineer the chassis/a pillars to lighten the car with the fixed roof, the net weight saving vs the targa roof panels will be bugger all. The roof panels of the 10 year older CGT weigh next to nothing already and you can be sure the 918's will weigh even less.
lol exactly.Same as Porsche fan boys. And Ferrari (plus Ferrari's jackbooted view on journalism). Really just everyone pissing in the wind and expecting not to smell bad after.
I've shared correct information and inside-info many times (99.9% of the time?) before and most of them in PMs to a few trusted members of ML.And how is that any different from CL and his sources?
Goplay has a very good point I reckon. Matching Porsche/Ferrari fanboy-ism doesn't exactly make Mclaren look great either.
Yep. Either go full on with the best specced car they can offer or simply pull a Ferrari and do not show up at all.BTW - whoever from McLaren let that P1 go out on Anglesey on the road Corsas is a NAIVE IDIOT...
If they worked for me and had the chance to firmly put their foot into Porsche car company's throat and did not do so by using the best TIRES on a circuit favorable to Porsche then I would sack them immediately.
