I've shared correct information and inside-info many times (99.9% of the time?) before and most of them in PMs to a few trusted members of ML. If you like some proof of the conversation between me and that certain person, I would happily PM you. :)
I don't think we need to doubt mark's sources guys... that would be a bit daft.. he's a very well informed fellow..

I don't have issue with people posting "inside" information. The problem is it can't be substantiated and just raises more doubts from the haters. It really provides no real benefit.

So either McLaren doesn't have discipline to eliminate leaks or they release this inside information through these channels deliberately. Is it incompetence or really bad marketing?
I guess it's just a bit of fun goplay... anyone can post their opinion, however well informed it is...

Nobody thankfully posts 'I spoke to xxxxx and he said that this is happening' but there's a good deal of informed opinion on here.. working out what's true and what's not is the fun part, well at least partly..

I guess I am just saying its probably slightly unfair to dismiss someone as a fanboy .. there's always the possibility that he may well be accurate and correct..

My pleasure, looking forward to seeing your results for comparison. Now if only someone would come visit me in a 918 or LaFerrari so I could throw their car on the scales...

Yep, that's about what I figured too. Also, keep in mind my car has several cows worth of leather in it, and every other weight+ option. I'll admit I don't know how much difference those options make, but it must be material. It was weighed with the Trofeo tire on it (same as it was delivered to me, which I believe was a question earlier in this or another topic - yes the Trofeo is a factory option). Not sure if there's a weight difference between Trofeo and Corsa. Will try to remember to weigh the wheels/tires next time I have them off.

Here are the photos to verify. To answer the inevitable important technical questions that may arise from these photos:
1) Yes, the car is in lift mode to get it on the scales
2) Yes, the scales could be a tiny bit unlevel - that spot checked out to be very close to level, but I make no assertion that it was 100% glass flat and level
3) Yes, the scale controller is sitting on the hood of my wife's Ghost, which was very dirty
4) Yes, those are pumpkins, for no particular reason other than the level spot in my driveway was right in front of them.
How much does the middle pumpkin weigh Matt? He looks a little below factory spec!

sorry isv I thought we were talking about the ring again.. yes I believe you are right about the weather. my bad
+1
I also thought we were talking about ring times and so forth.

I personally haven't got a clue what happened at top gear. It would indeed be amusing if, as seems likely, the test was called off due a wet track.

As oft stated, I wouldn't want them both to be tested in wet conditions. And I suspect neither would top gear..

BTW - whoever from McLaren let that P1 go out on Anglesey on the road Corsas is a NAIVE IDIOT...

If they worked for me and had the chance to firmly put their foot into Porsche car company's throat and did not do so by using the best TIRES on a circuit favorable to Porsche then I would sack them immediately.

Children at play
Think it's fair to say there is renewed focus on these issues
