* ...and everyone else too. ;)

Taking the wrapper off their showroom on Wilshire Blvd for the first time, they were kind enough to invite me down to see it on opening day. :)

Just being in a McLaren dealership in the United States is a huge thrill for me after all these years of excessive interest in the brand and their great cars. Being invited to visit and welcomed in the door the way that I was - allowed full access to view their new-arrival McLaren MP4-12C demo cars - is an even bigger treat. Thanks to everyone there!!

Unfortunately I didn't bring along a "real" camera, but still managed nearly 200 decent shots with my iPhone which I hope you'll enjoy. Click the image below to access my Flickr album.

If you are in the Beverly Hills area please stop by and say "Hello" and check out the new cars. Tell them Peloton25 sent you. :D

Thanks - I am not a red person, but I've seen the car in Volcano Red a couple of times now and it is a really wonderful color on the car.

I'd still order mine in Azure Blue or the Racing Green though - probably the blue, but it is starting to sound like the green will be more exclusive which is fine as long as you like the color and don't plan to sell it I guess.

Damn, need to check out the VR in person. McLaren SF has the Mac Orange car, and honestly glad I didn't go for it on the 12C... saving it for P12.

I liked this shot enough to clean it up a bit.

There are some decent shots of the VR car towards the end of the album as well.

Andy. Yes, see what you mean but Ron's shareholders will disagree. The carbon splitter is good if a little pricey to bash and scratch here and there.

It is curious how many colours suit the car, unique in my opinion. Fiats really only look OK in red, grigio and red.

c'mon guys, you know if you buy a VR car, someone somewhere will inevitably ask " what's a Ferrari McLaren?"

Go Orange!

Actually I would like to see McLaren offer a pure red on their cars. The F1 in McLaren San Francisco's showroom looks quite good in a pure red.

I surveyed the 35's and below and they all said a Mac in red is trying to be a Ferrari ! Don't see that myself but it was a long time since I was 35.

Was this an official opening day of BH showroom? If so, I wonder why I was not informed nor invited? hmmm
No - nothing official and no reason to feel slighted. Yesterday was just the first day they removed the coverings from the windows and had their doors open.

I don't think they're planning another event like the one they put on last year. I am sure if you are "on the list" that you will be hearing from them shortly to arrange a drive. If you are in the immediate vicinity you can feel free to stop by too. Most of the people you see in my photos were dealership staff still working on final setup and there were a handful of passers-by who stopped in to have a look.

Just two cars so far - one fairly high spec in Volcano Orange and the other is a medium spec car in Volcano Red.

Great pix. Thanks for sharing with us. My favorite is the money shot of the under side of the 12C. It is absolutely smooth with no vents to speak of and the rear diffuser is huge! I am sure the jurnos are not used to driving cars that suck themselves to the ground so effectively. Very exciting stuff.

I don't know, but I think you should go back one more time and leave a deposit. ;)

Might I suggest a paint color too? :D
