I have been offered a drive but on a prescribed route 'for insurance reasons'. Will be interested to hear how long you get to judge if your £200,000 is worth a punt!
It's pathetic that the dealer won't stump up an insurance premium for a test drive of choosing?

Can you ask if the demo has the Inconel exhaust and if so, please let us know what it sounds like at full chat?

I do find it amazing that McLaren can market cars at £200k and propose the test drive to a restricted route and time scale. If controlling cost is a key criteria when interfaced with prospective £15000 deposit customers then they are not class leading or customer centric! Surely we are not time wasters?
Ferrari are trying hard. Day at Milbrook - launch control start 5 or 6 times hitting 186 mph before braking to 50 mph to make the banked turn at the end of the mile straight. Test rides from home at my convenience etc.......come on McLaren treat us like prospects that need selling.......surely we will spread the word!

SERIOUSLY! Here in the States we won't be able to test drive ANY car in ANY setting before autumn!
Is ferrari charging you for MILBROOK or is it comp ? ( what dealer ) ? did you get milbrook because you bought a car ?
Which dealer? there's no prescribed route from London to my knowledge as they are doing most demos from peoples homes or workplaces so they will all differ. Equally i've never heard of insurance restrictions for a test drive route. Do you not have all vehicle cover from your insurers anyway?

Standard or sports exhaust and how does it sound?I was only driving for about 30 mins, I thought it was very fast, very easy to drive. A lot easier to drive than a gallardo, the gear change is awesome in actual fact the whole car is awesome! !! I am looking forward to getting mine in august all the more now. A big thanks to Alistair from mac london for bringing it to me in his own time, I am really busy at the moment.

I doubt the restrictions are from McLaren, but rather placed by the dealership (for whatever reason).
I'd love to know your thoughts on the car - especially if you get to hear the sports exhaust!

The car was fitted with sport exhaust, however I have not experienced the standard exhaust to compare it with. Loved the car
