Steve Sutcliffe sounds disappointed that the MP12 has been revised in this weeks Autocar Mag.

He now says that the original exhaust was tops for sound quality and detail after four day's driving the car. It had many levels of detail and intriguing sounds , if a little less loud than the 458 due to the Turbo's( my words ).

Sort of says McLaren bottled out responding to Journos and Ferrari and would be better served with it's own identity ......bravo.......at last a journo acknowledges the MP12 is a McLaren and not a FERRARI.

Think Mr Antony Sheriff will be tearing his hair out!!!!!

Is it just me, or is there a fair amount of in-fighting amongst British journalists these days? Well, if not in-fighting, at least not-so-veiled pot shots at each other, especially over the McLaren vs. Ferrari issue:

1- Chris Harris is fed up with Ferrari for being manipulative and with other journalists for succumbing to those manipulations.
2- Other journalists are peeved at Harris for whistle-blowing and/or jealous of him for the publicity he received.
3- Tiff and Plato are moaning about Clarkson and Top Gear showing them up.
4- Sutcliffe is perturbed that Harry et al. had some influence at McLaren (and claimed credit for it).

It's like an automotive press soap opera. :)

Yes, they are a sensitive bunch. Certainly seem defensive at times but some are very talented at story telling, others at technical dissection and others at digging beyond the obvious.

Wonder how many have the courage, or stupidity, of independent opinion?
