Hi chaps, any long distance music listeners come across this? Occasionally whilst Doris is playing music, I get a sudden blast of static between tracks. Scares the bejesus out of me.
Using WAVs on a USB stick, set to just shuffle the songs on continuous play...

Nope, never happened to me. I use MP3 on USB stick. Have you tried a different stick? How are you converting to WAV? Do you happen to notice if it's the same songs?

All my CDs are ripped / archived as FLAC files (lossless, but compressed format). You can unpack the FLAC back to WAV without losing quality and FLACs only take up about 70% of the space a WAV would do. I use dBpoweramp for conversions and AudioGrabber for ripping.
Haven't tried a different stick yet, next time it happens going to try and make a note of the two songs to see what's what and if repeatable on another stick.
