Seems a lot of guys still undecided about the Inconel exhaust, so I thought I'd make a little vid of revving to 7000 RPM in neutral (the car does not let you rev to 8500 redline in neutral, or at least I don't know how to do it!)

Sorry the sound is still clipping a bit at peak volume. I thought the gain limiter on the iPhone mic would prevent clipping, but I guess having it so close botched that. Also, the video is overexposed to blur my license plate.

When I get a chance, I will try to make a vid revving to 8500 in gear.

You're welcome! Yeah, in a lot of the vids out there the guys are being too timid with the gas, revving to 4000 or something. Maybe because the car hasn't been broken in yet or because they are indoors

Even at idle the exhaust rumble and throttle-off burble is loud; I've set off car alarms in parking garages by just rolling by. Not a single person yet has remarked that my exhaust isn't loud enough.

Yes the wife says it shakes the house. Not so great for early mornings, but luckily she does not know that a quieter exhaust was available.

Agree that Inconel is killer stuff. To be honest did not know much about the material, but the more I read, the more I am impressed. Serious heat tolerance and corrosion resistance. It has some other neat uses too, besides Formula One exhausts.

Very impressive....can be made extremely thin walled but also very strong; as you mentioned with heat and corrosion advantage plus very light weight....up McLaren's alley. There is a huge advantage with all that F1 know how:D

McLaren Inconel 'sport' exhaust

Any member know if the inconel exhaust is bespoke. It is beautifully made; does it come from Ricardo along with the engine. Porsche contracts out to Akrapovic for it's exhaust on the Turbo S. Not sure about the GT models. Likely the Ti exhaust on the GT models are from Akrapovic
