Sadly objective data, laptimes and performance measurements, are not in line with your claim. And subjective feelings as well, Fifth Gear review says it all.

What you think of those publications is one thing but Lord March being tabloid journalist is new to me.

aren't these reviews more like how most owners will experience the cars - ie in isolation with no drag races, lap timing, drifting, limit driving etc.

the more I think of it the more I reckon the 458 is the better super car, the 12c the better car. it's up to ones use as to which will appeal more.

I think there's a lot of people in this segment that could never see themselves in a 458 and a 911, while technically brilliant, is a bit too much of an 'every day car'.

With that in mind, the McLaren seems like a perfect fit.
