why?
Free marketing that would bring more customers to Mclaren Automotive.why?
I feel like customers who can afford McLarens already know about McLaren. Also, I doubt McLaren would take part in this due to legality issues if for some reason something goes wrong with the car after (salt water problems in vehicles can show up years later), they wouldn’t want any responsibility.Free marketing that would bring more customers to Mclaren Automotive.
Houston Crosta mentioned when he restored his flooded Bugatti Veyron, everything that was not carbon fiber was replaced. For Tavarish's P1, the car will be stripped down and treated for salt water removal, as far as the carbon fiber panels goes. Everything else, we have to wait and see when Tavarish drops the P1 video in March. I would love to see Mclaren sponsor the rebuild as it's their creation, after all.
The only marketing there is is for the yt channel, bringing him more revenues.Free marketing that would bring more customers to Mclaren Automotive.
Because it will generate alot of interest and revenue based on the views he gets - at least I expect that his plan. If this was not a YouTuber I agree makes zero sense but with Taverish it will be good entertainment. As a 675 owner it was educational to see his last rebuild and I will watch his P1 build. The typical owner (not related to the repair community ) was more why t.f. Would anyone even do this ? (I fall in this category too).
I don’t believe so, but I could be wrong. I think they are like me, just a big fan of the brand.does OP have a Mac?
I get that. However, whenever a ferrari/lambo/porsche has some type of mechanical issue/build quality issue, etc., then it is fairly ignored as being a one off or "shit happens"...Because it will generate alot of interest and revenue based on the views he gets - at least I expect that his plan. McLaren will stay well away from this - nothing to gain but plenty to lose.
Good point, I was not taking that into account.I get that. However, whenever a ferrari/lambo/porsche has some type of mechanical issue/build quality issue, etc., then it is fairly ignored as being a one off or "shit happens"...
Mclarens are not given the same leeway (mainly because other marque advocates are in much, much, much greater numbers on social media and they are there to protect those brands).
Mclaren and the dealers themselves have started to go out of there way to make sure they do not sell modified cars, storied cars, or the cars are marked in their systems... People fixing wrecked cars that were written off by insurance companies, tuned cars, cars with dodgy histories that wind up having issues are not clearly known as being these types of cars..... Social media tends to take these types of difficulties and run with it...
The posting by twinturbo (who is in this business and gave great detail in another thread), was a real eye opener of how this system works... As an owner of these cars; I'd rather have all the tuners/modifiers/bringing cars back to life to just disappear for a few years.
They will be .. they'll sell them parts at the same, sky-high, prices that they charge everyone else!I think it would be fun to McLaren involved in such a high profile item.
with an idiot youtuber surcharge.....They will be .. they'll sell them parts at the same, sky-high, prices that they charge everyone else!
