Hi all,
I posted this thread at the AMG Private Lounge, but I would like to post it here as well to get as much feedback/comments as possible.

Copied thread:

My father and I are planning to take a road trip from LA to Vegas! It's going to be a family trip, so we are planning on taking 3 cars with us: 12C, SLS and the LX570.

At this point, the only thing that really worries me is the ease of parking at the casinos (and no, I would never let valets touch my cars!!). I have been to Vegas numerous of times, but never with a low riding sports car, so I never pay attention to which places have low ramps to parking. Frankly, I'm worried about those damn speed bumps and high ramps to parking area that can do some serious damage to my cars!

So for those of you who are familiar with the hotels in Vegas, can anyone recommend to me a hotel where it's easy and secure to park your supercar? How about the parking area at Wynn or Palazzo? I have never stayed there, so those are the 2 casinos that we are considering at the moment. I know Wynn has the Ferrari dealership, so I wonder where do they park their cars?

Lastly, I heard that there are some epic roads around the Vegas area. Can anyone provide me with a list of roads where we could take the SLS and the 12C to stretch their legs? This would be greatly appreciated!! :D

Wynn - call concierge and or the Ferrari service center ... they accept tips!

They have a private parking garage below the dealership and a very nice little special special area if you can it's a must see.

Suggest going to the drift park.

The Mandarin Oriental in Vegas took great care of my 12C when I was there two months ago. I too never hand over the key to a valet, but I did for them and they drove it like a 99 year-old grandma. I wouldn't hesitate to trust them with it again.

We are located just minutes from the strip... Any of the major strip hotels that valet will take excellent care of your supercars... Honestly, there are usually 10-20 at any hotel at any given time in Las Vegas. Wynn also has a Ferrari dealer in the hotel. Champagne612 has an excellent tip which is to call the concierge, they will be happy to take care of anything you want or need.

As far as roads go... if you were looking to stretch your legs... you may try heading on 15N -> 95N and once you're past say Anne road, you'll have a good mostly straight run for a while with a bit of scenery. There is some uphill / downhill but there is room and not much traffic.

If you want a fun drive, consider doing the Valley of Fire loop. In fact, if you're looking for a few more cars, let us know when you're in town and we can add a few Ferrari's or Maserati's to the mix!

Best Regards,

Go out hwy 160 to pahrump, plenty of room for strait line speed. Then go to spring mountain motor resort for some left right fun on the longest road course in the Americas. PM me with the dates.

Agreed. A properly tipped valet is much safer than a parking garage next to a Prius.

Apparently, I need to go see my neighbor at Larini. Who knew?!

Was just in Vegas for the SEMA show, didn't notice any speed bumps although we weren't driving so it really didn't matter. Must admit though I love Vegas, planning on returning in April and then in November once again. I'm hoping to get out to the track at least once on one of these occasion and let her rip. Oh and by the way I've been label as Doug by the wolf pack on my last trip. Cheers.....??

I ALWAYS have valet park my rides. The MP4 is no exception.
Remember it is still just car..it is not like you are giving you virgin daughter
to a valet for safe keeping. And I park it where ever I go and I don't watch it either!

force, I'm slowly getting there. It took about a year with my last car. The only thing that ends up happening is you get a lot of face and handprints by the doors of people looking in. I honestly don't mind. But I go through this with every new car. Even my old honda had its "new" paranoid owner time. :)

I think the xpel is helping me get there faster.

I just have bad experience when it comes to valet parking my cars. Living in LA, sometimes it is not an option to NOT valet your cars because there are no other parking available.

It does annoy me when I wash my car and discover my wheels have been curbed or other damages by the valet guys.

Valet?

I was also in Vegas for SEMA. Four days at the self park in Bellagio. No issues at all. I just picked an end spot. It's a car after all.

I'm Doug!

I think there is a little bit or in some cases enormous amounts of of that movie in our Vegas persona :)
Wow, so we have something in common we're both Doug's some by choice and some not, of course I'm the latter. Once again I would post pictures but I really, really do not or will not incriminate myself. Love the movie, we the wolf pack are now contemplating going to Thailand I'm not sure why LOL??. Cheers.....??

The last time I parked in an end spot, some genius cut it too sharp and hit the left front fender and light of my GT. Of course there was no note. It cost $6,000. I don't do that any more!

Didn't realize you were there....many of you guys probably were! I was there too, but on an official capacity of course.

The girls had something to say to me afterwards too.

Seriously though, I would leave my 12C at home or park elsewhere...no way would I let a valet touch my car although usually though if I do drive an exotic someplace, I tip generously and they allow me to park my car myself in a "safe" area.

I was turned away at a Garage in Manhattan yesterday. "I'm sorry, we don't take Exotic Cars."
