Raising front suspension

Gents,

A question for the tech minded here. Many low slung cars now offer an option that will raise the front suspension to clear speed bumps and steep driveways. Given the MP4-12c's wondrous Kinetic suspension, shouldn't this be a software function to temporarily raise the front? Do you suppose this was overlooked as a market need or would we be talking a lot of additional, weighty components to achieve this feat?

I asked a year ago and they said that they did not think about it...
There are now very good hydraulic systems that can be installed only on coil overs.
Soon I expect someone will adapt one for the mp4, if not mclaren comes out first with a system.
Expect around 3-5 kegs weight for a hydraulic lift or maybe less for a lift incorporated in the shocks like Porsche has
It should be a pretty straight forward system to fit. Porsche, Lambo, and Ferrari all use them.

When I bought my car I did ask about this and was told it would not be needed because of the relatively short overhangs. However, now I have the car I find it is about as difficult as my Gallardo and I cannot enter my driveway, with two people in the car, without touching the ground. I would definitely tick the option if it were available. Just for the record, how many other people feel the same?

Not so far Syd,on difficult raises i have just altered my angle of attack,i have however taken off one of the front air deflectors on a farm track. They must be expecting this alot as they are priced at £28 and easy to fit

Well, that's a lot cheaper than the equivalent Lambo part! :D
as i drive the car since 1 week, this is a problem this absence of lift. the lift on my previous gt3rs was an hapiness...
