Even in Italian, this is a sick video:
http://tv.quattroruote.it/la-prova/video/prova-club-4-secondi-2011/

The Tiff-despised Lambo takes top spot and Evo's Car of the Year worst of the bunch. Hmmmmmmmm..... So, who's right?

Opinions are like arm pits !!

Still baffles me my anyone would lend credible weight to some one just because they have a Bic and a note pad, or have a camera in their face.

Its just entertainment. Drive it and form you own opinions. Then buy the one YOU like best

It is an Italian program, of course an Italian car won. Great show. Nice to see them drive the cars without the rear wheels going sideways on occasion.

Not a lot of subjective/judgemental comments in the piece.
The finish was in the order in which they did their lap times.

Lambo was 1:13.8
McLaren 1:14.8
599 1:16.
Gt3 1:16.3

I think you are potentially missunderstanding the video. I can understand some italian.

He says the German car is lika porka sausage, very meaty but not a good for da real meal deal. The Englazy car has class and de girls woulda be comfortable but not getta excited.

Da Prancing Hoarse good to escape da payments on da debt of the Euro but the Lambo is da car to create more of da Euro debt very Italian but you must have da hairy armpits to drive it.

My head is saying "MP4" , my heart is saying "MP4", but my crotch is screaming "Aventador"! What an awesome looking car when in motion. However, the Lambo is approx 70% more than the Mac, but not 70% better so the majority of my anatomy is correct! I also can't see driving the Lambo except on very special occasions, and of course, I'd look like a complete posing dickhead every time I did drive it. McLaren wins again! Phew, roll on production of slot number 1433!

The Lamborghini is an event. Unique in the car world.

The Aventador will make a noise and style statement like no other, it is not like any other car.

I place my second deposit and final spec this week so my dream is one step closer!

BTW, anyone know what the slot number means - no-one at the Dealership nor contacts within Woking can tell me the significance of the number. Same thing for my order number (4033). It's all a mystery. I had to firm-up my spec quite a while back, and I'm still being told end-Jan, but its all verbal. If there are any "experts" out there with the slot and order numbers I'd appreciate feedback

texas, I have to final spec by the end of this week in preparation for the dealer recieving a production batch for specification asap (for tentativeJan/Feb build and March delivery).

My understanding is that the 'production slot' is released by Woking and the dealer then enters the specs for each order in the slot which becomes becomes a confirmed and irrevocable specification. Mclaren then issue a 'build number' and date and the order is live and created.

Hence the dealer wants my spec organised and agreed so the production slot becomes a confirmed order as soon as it is released ........and thus not not missed.

Texas,my order num was 3062 and my chassis is 079,go figure??you will just have to go by the dealership ,they have a direct portal to the MPC and they get a heads up when the car goes into production. That said that might have gone out of the window if the cars have been made and stored waiting for the upgrades,at 37 cars a week! IF your one of the first at your dealer it could be soon

Yes, I ordered mine Sept 2009, eventually an indicated Sept 2011 delivery ,then Oct and now March2012.

Today I saw chassis no's around 35 and something like 105 and neither have been delivered to customers but are upgraded and ready. Lots of cars finished baring the upgrades.

The dealer service guys say the Mclaren Production Centre is now stable and has consistent output with high build quality. They are getting their act together and becoming predictable.

Must say the improved build is noticeable.
