OK
so I've ordered mine via Park Place Motors in Dallas Texas, but have had dealings with several other Mac Dealerships. I spent today at MacLaren Manchester and they were all great - vey helpful and friendly even tho' my order isn't with them. I've also talked quite a bit with the London Dealer - also very helpful. As for Park Place, I have nothing but good feelings so far. However, feedback from various folk is that the Florida Dealership is not so hot.
Froom my own bad experiences with other high-end 'exotic' dealerships it frustrates the hell out of me that when you spend a bucket load of money you still get treated like crap; so far this has not been the case with MaClaren.
Has anyone good or bad experiences to relate? This could be a very helpful thread for MacLaren itself - it would help get direct client feedback.

Nothing but praise, first from the boys at the MTC for the first couple of years.
Here,s another anecdote, over a year ago i knew that the dealerships in the uk were going to be opening soon and i was going to go on hoilday,a bit panicky that i might miss my slot and get put down the order, unreal that this may seem but the boys from client sevices at the MTC personally rang me in the MALDIVES to say enjoy your silver wedding anniversary it would be a couple of weeks yet, made my holiday (apart from the obvious)
And Mark at manchester (whom you met today) has done everything above and beyond the call of duty
i will be surprised if there are many complaints, apart from those who cannot be helped of course

McLaren San Francisco has been superb. Couldn't be happier with the service I've gotten, and I'd never had a single dealing with Price Family dealerships before then (Mr. Price has a sexy red F1 that he was showing off at the Silicon Valley unveiling).

McLaren London have tried hard to answer all queries where possible. They have been helpful and patient with repeated questions.

They are on plan with orders, and that must help, as at the end of the day it's a financial enterprise but they are completely professional.

I think the test comes when the business is in full swing and all facets tug at their attention.

But I have high hopes of the London team.

I actually think this is a very important point as it was one of the commitments Ron Dennis made during the launch of the company, obviously aware of Ferrari's reputation.

My experience with McLaren Newport Beach has been very good so far. Sometimes I don't get the best answers via email (one of which caused me to miss the lock date for my order and miss making a couple of tweaks). But overall a very good experience.
Ferrari Newport Beach, on the other hand, has been a very poor experience for me. When I decided to purchase a used F430, years back, I went there and explained to the salesman what I was looking for. For months I never heard from them, despite a couple of cars that matched my desires going through the dealership. I eventually bought from a private party but my car has been serviced by NB since then. The service experience has been pretty good.

Just before the 458 came out, I asked one of the sales people to be placed on the wait list and to receive any info as they got it. I never heard from him, even when the rolling chassis came through. I've also requested info on the Ferrari tour, F1 Paddock passes, and the driving school at Fiorano, all experiences I was looking forward to as a Ferrari owner. The dealership did not follow through with any information regarding any of those events. And, of course, when I emailed my sales contact expressing my disappointment regarding the level of customer service, I never heard back from him.

Contrast that to McLaren NB: Whenever information has been available, I almost always hear about it. I was invited to attend the Montreal GP (purchasing McLaren paddock passes) rather than having to ask about it - a great experience (particularly given the amazing Button victory)! On the occasions when I stop by the dealer (currently in Lamborghini NB), it is always an enjoyable experience. And when there was the mistake that caused me to miss out on a couple of changes for my order, the dealer apologized, which is something I've never heard from Ferrari.

Customer service - or even just an expectation of mutual respect, which Ferrari seems to lack - is important to me when dealing with any organization. McLaren seems to get that and Ferrari does not. It amazes me how many other Ferrari owners I speak to who have similar experiences, which is yet another reason I support McLaren. I'll probably keep my F430 to sit next to my MP4-12C in the garage because I do like the car. At least until the point where I realize that it pales in comparison to the McLaren and then no longer drive it! But if the day comes when I want to replace it, I won't be buying a Ferrari from a dealer (if they were ever to get around to contacting me). Maybe my McLaren dealer will have a trade-in on his lot that I can purchase. Ha hah...
