Just received an email from McLaren about the upcoming Pure McLaren North America days.

Brochure: http://view.mclarencarsus.com/jc.aspx?d=CWGFWDUCGAIEL5ZS36SA7QGGGYYT4VWACZFIWNTKDEZJIIBR53O6D2643RZXHPYQYDUYHMOHBLBAFTQ2UNVY5GK3MUNU4HS4VWWWTWYKCAODIUGBYASBZMZPFHD4XZQTUIEJRWOMNSXMZQSUJR7IIVGKGQ5STV3VCWIXB2XRWOX6KLCDJ5U2J3PZJLN2H5VDVSK3NIS3NAIB3YMDPQLDPQUQ6ZRIV53TPSPRJ7H6&u=https://www.dropbox.com/s/cbrhnryjkhyg2an/2019.Pure.Program.Brochure.pdf?dl=0

I don't know if there is a typo in the brochure but it says the Owner Track Day Road Car (you drive your own car) is $4893 with one 20-min instructor session! This pricing has to be incorrect. I think it was $1800 last year...

What do you get for the $32,000 per person 2-day owners track day (still using your own car)??
Actually looks like last year it was 29K, so it’s gone up 10%. Last year they had a “Plus” package on that 1 day that was $3K, which included hotels and transfers. I’m guessing this year the $4800 version is the plus package by default and they just dropped the arrive and drive version altogether, and hiked the price almost 50%!

Phew! They adjusted the pricing after I emailed them. Owner track day road car is $1850 now. The Owner Track Day Road Car Plus (own car, transfers, 2 20-min coached sessions, hotel, dinner with crew, etc) is $3500.

The $32k package is for track only cars such as 570 GT4 cars or 720 GT3 cars or even the truly wealthy with P1 GTRs.

What is the liability for the 1/2 day experience where you drive their cars? My experience with other programs is they cover the liability cost, but McLaren says nothing about this in the promo information. I was once at another sports car company program similar in scope and a car literally caught fire and burned to the ground during the program! Nobody was hurt and driver bore no responsibility. What happens if somebody crashes a 720S during the 1/2 day program?

They are running at COTA (one of the most expensive tracks in the country to rent $50K a day) I think they are spreading those costs over multiple events. It would be nice if they ran events at bucket list tracks like VIR, Road Atlanta, WGI, Road America, Laguna Seca. They pick some great tracks but the closest to me (driving from South Carolina) is Homestead, and it is a ROVAL so meh. Last year they had Tremblant which is an awesome track and great location but VERY geographically undesirable.
Pretty sure for the "1/2 day experience" they have an instructor in the car with you who will make sure that you are not a maniac with a death wish.
