Does anyone regret not having protected their car or wish they had? I am going to have the car fully detailed and coated with gtechniq and can't decide whether to to wrap the front end or to leave it clean?

Any thoughts would be appreciated....

I went with the front bumper mirror cases side cills and the panel in front of the rear wheel these were the areas tat the dealer said seemed to get most chipping. Im not a fan of full wrap and the car I saw with full wrap on was not the best of fits so you could see alot of the edges of the film as if it was a little small. I think the other consideration is which paint you have, mine is carbon black so easy to match if I needed a touch up spray, but the pearl 3 layer paint is very hard to match so I hear.

Hi 360
Thanks for your input. Which company did you use as some don't quote the panel in from of the rear wheels. Is this area that includes the tuning vanes being the whole area behind the door??

All help gratefully received

Hi Andy

Have you found anyone to wrap the side vanes, is it just the vanes or the whole area in front of the rear wheels in which case we are getting close to having the whole car wrapped...
Chris, I had the inner vanes themselves wrapped (the entire inner vanes, not just the leading edges) and then the leading edges of the outer vanes wrapped as well, plus the leading edge of the fender cutout behind the rear wheels. So no, you don't need to wrap the entire car, Other than the front end, by far the most important section is the underside of the sideskirts, as this area is constantly hammered by the front wheels kicking up debris (you'll notice even after a short drive). My detailer removed the factory wrap, fixed the paint, and then applied a more complete clear wrap to get better coverage.

Let me know if you have any more wrap questions.

Just had the car detailed over two days and the "wrap" to follow tomorrow. The paint on the car was good but now after the detailing, its just stunning !!

Can't wait to get it back and back out on the road

Chrisb. The paint is so soft it will chip if you look at it.

Venture Shied covers the front, replaces the factory bits with full cover, the vane edges and sides.

My car gets machine gunned by debris thrown up by the front tyres, stones collect in the bottom of the vanes on the mesh. But I don't keep it in the garage!

It was wrapped today it is being kept in a temperature controlled environment for 24 hours before I take it out. Having checked it out tonight, I am very happy with the results and will feel a lot better when it's out on the roads:)
good to hear!

that's exactly the point. not only the film gives a decent protection for the paint. the biggest trick is it releases so much mental stress knowing the film is there to take the first hit. i'm sure u'll feel ALOT more comfortable driving the car. :)

I will let you know after I get my car! It's been in Dallas for almost 3 weeks getting a concorso quality detail prior to getting a full wrap with Ventureshield!!

I am tired of the waiting game but feel that it will be worth it in the end.

For those in Toronto, the entire front was wrapped including A-pillars, plus the behind the front wheel arches. Pfaff's guy did an awesome job with no exposed edges (except the strips behind the front tire). This is NOT the same guy that was butchering the Porsches there, lol, according to them.

Pics if anyone wants them.
