First post in here, I just have to share what I think is the funniest review of the 12C I've read. I thought Forbes was a serious magazine.http://www.forbes.com/sites/hannahelliott/2012/02/11/driving-the-mclaren-mp4-12c/

Favourite quote:
- The orange color is disgusting. Argue all you want but most people can’t stand that burnt mustard hue automakers seem to think is so hot right now.
One more:
I’m not buying it. I took a very unscientific poll about it at Tesla’s Model X launch event in Los Angeles, and the results are in: 9 out of 10 car guys/LA glitterati don’t like it. That 10th person is a hard-core orange lover and probably went to Syracuse and you’ll never convince them orange is ugly. Ugly except in cases of Hermes and the fruit, that is.

Also like the fact that she researches well too, "It weighs just over 2,000 pounds." Must be related to the editor.
Forbes Magazine!! Make you wonder about the quality of ALL the numerical information they publish if they cannot get simple figures correct, just the most pathetic review ive ever read on any car.Shamefull journalism, she would do well in the UK:rolleyes:

Like Andy Clax and others, I have a VO and the first think people comment on in the UK (car lovers or otherwise) as how much they love the colour.

Are our American cousins really that different?

Where did she do her research, amongst Irish Catholics?

I saw that last night and was rather unimpressed by it myself. I used the link at the bottom of the screen that allows you to submit a correction request and sent this note:

This article states that the new McLaren weighs just over 2,000 lbs. This is not accurate - the curb weight on the MP4-12C is officially listed by McLaren as 3,161 lbs.

The article also mentions that the McLaren is more than 1,000 lbs lighter than a Ferrari 599. This is also inaccurate. Ferrari's published curb weight for the 599 is 3,722 lbs. The total difference between the two then is just over 550 lbs.

One other minor or item - it mentions the car will be unique with only 1,200 of these new McLarens being built. That figure is actually a yearly production target dependent on worldwide demand, and ultimately McLaren would like to build around 4,000-5,000 of these cars over the next 4-5 years.
I thought about mentioning that the Volcano Orange color she so detests has been ordered in one of the higher percentages by people who are actually purchasing the car, but figured she is entitled to her opinion if it really bothers her that much.

The sad thing is that I have seen a few of Hannah Elliott's articles on the Forbes website in the past and didn't come away with the same bad feelings after reading them. It appears from the videos that accompany the article that she may have phoned this one in. ;) but :(
